Finally solved the problem with my ematic tablet. Downloaded update.img from chinagadgetreviews.com as a rar file. But none of the Rockchip batch tools was able to flash it. Finally I downloaded Pipo_M7_Pro_RileyROM_3.4.1 from this forum hoping to use the custom ROM there. There is a folder 'RK Rom Dumper and Flasher for Windows' and used the ROM_Dumper_Tool in it to flash the update.img I downloaded earlier. The update was installed and the tab is alive. By the way, this tool can be used to backup the system. The instructions are given in the folder.
