Enter the anti-glare screen protector, just over $3 on ****. It protects the screen from scratches, gives the screen a matte anti-glare finish, and supposedly cuts UV radiation and reduces eye strain. It doesn't cook breakfast, but it does just about everything else.

I was skeptical of how well it would work for $3, but I just installed it last night, and it's fantastic. It seems like it must reduce touchscreen sensitivity and/or display brightness somewhat, but I haven't noticed at all. And I don't have to worry about screen scratches now -- if I scratch up the protector, then I can just spend another $3 to get a new one.
Of course, I couldn't find a protector custom-made for the Polaroid screen. So instead what I bought (and what's linked above) is a screen protector for the Nook Tablet, which I cut down to size using a ruler and Exacto knife. Maybe there's a protector out there that fits our screen perfectly -- not sure. But cutting down the Nook Tablet screen protector seemed to work fine.
Anyway, just thought I'd pass this recommendation along -- for me it was $3 very well spent.
