Newer Xtreamer Multi-Console Firmware - Ver 2.4.1.27 tested working on X7 not mini.

    Hello all,

All credit goes to DeliriumNL for finding the firmware.

I have flashed it on my X7 (not mini) and everything appears to be working fine.
The firmware is huge so takes almost 15mins to install so be very patient as its pre-installed with tons of apps.

It seems to support OTA too.

Links to newer firmware 29/01/14 Ver 2.4.1.27 at top.

    Cheers

    Nathan

Of course it won't work on a mini since its a rebranded x7. Funny how this came out not too long after Minix's release as well.

That would be a common assumption as the box looks near identical to an X7 and not the mini, however the first release of the firmware has x7mini in the filename description as mentioned in the other xtreamer thread.

I have no idea whether this is a hybrid firmware but the fact airpin pro isn't recognised as official due the base firmware being heavily modded may mean its a hybrid as airpin pro is preloaded and fully functional within the official minix firmware for the x7/mini.

Maybe they just modded too much.

If I'm being completely honest, not really impressed with the rom after using it for a day, it feels a little sluggish, interface wise and has a lot of ad sponsored apk's, and tons of bloatware.

The launcher however is pretty good and nice to have xbmc pre-configured to use xbmchub, mashup etc.
I guess its perfectly fine for a basic user.

Most of the devs here have much better offerings I think.

Hi guys, i hope you can help me as i am a bit of a noob when it comes to flashing.

I would really like to have the Xtreamer Rom installed on my x7, however i do not know what the safest method would be now that it is already customised.

I have Finless Rom 1.8 installed with 1080p kernal and ClockWorkMod recovery.

What tool should i use to flash the Rom outright from the download they provide.
Is it safe to use the included RKBatchTool, or Finless Rom_Flash_Tool_137?
Or maybe via the CWM recovery itself.

Could someone give a short simple step by step proceedure?

                  Many thanks in advance.

Thanks joebejm, but I wanted to know if it was theoretically safe to flash with the supplied rkbatch tool with CWM recovery already installed. Would I lose CWM and replaced by the one in the rom. Or does this only change the system image etc.
                        Thanks again.

That thing I don't know But I will try this Rom just for fun of it.

                          Update:
I did not had a lot of time this morning to play around with it but.....
Well I installed this ROM and it took a while before I could look around. After Installing ROM the unit start installing APPS on it before you could go to user information setup. I can say that is Rooted so no problem there. I'm not crazy about the launcher and it has a lot of Apps that for me, some of them are useless so I will have to Uninstall them. I try to down load the Real Racer 3 from Play Store and it would not let me (It's not for your Unit) but I use a Market Helper to full the Play Store and it worked.
I did not tried the Movie playing on it using MX Player or XBMC that will be next this Evening.

I flash with the Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7 They included in the package but I had already installed.
I had before QuickShot_V2 and what ever programs I had they were removed during Install.

I can't tell you how this ROM will performed until I will play with it this Evening.
