The kyser_root.zip should work on any device with UBIFS (all current Amlogic based Nextbooks). It just adds the su binary as a normal system update. Then you can download your choice of superuser or supersu from the play store. You can find the root package here:

Just make sure you use the correct recovery. You can get CWM recovery here:

Make sure you check your build.prop to determine which board you have and download the correct CWM. Using the wrong one will most likely brick your tablet.

I have done all the work on my tablet with the tablet itself several times. So it is possible, just make sure you have the right model for these roms and root packages or you coukd brick your tablet for the short future.
