I finally got it. Everything appears to be working on the device. I still have no ADB driver showing in device manager, I would really like to get that working as I want to do some development work on this device.

Hello!

I'm trying to remember if ADB is included in Finless' package. If is isn't, you will have to download and install at least part of the ADB Software Development Kit to use ADB, which also lets you install the driver.

Exact instructions are published in a number of different places on the Web. I did it when I owned one, but now that I got rid of it, I forgot how...

There are 2 drivers based on what "mode" the tablet is in. The tablet cant be in 3 modes!

1) Rom flash mode
2) ADB enabbled mode
3) USB removable drive mode. This is the mode everyone sees when they plug in a booted tablet to a PC. They get in windows, removable drives that show up. NO DRIVERS are needed for this mode.

In my ROMs is the driver for flashing the ROM (ROM flash mode). This is NOT the same as the ADB driver. When in flash mode you use the driver I supply in the ROM flash kit.

When the tablet is booted to a certain point it enables the ADB client side of the tablet. If you want to use ADB from your PC then you also need to install the ADB driver.

I had the same problem just ended up booting into flash mode and flashing finless rooted rom . Holding volume up and down and sticking a pen into the reset hole on the back. Then when i was done tweaked the prop out to say what my sent from says and a few performance tweaks

I am about ready to give up on the ADB driver for this device (next 7s resistive screen). I have already rooted the device with Bob's rom. It works fine and I have had no problems with it. Item 1 of Bob's reply obviously works since I was able to flash the device. As I mentioned in a previous post, Item 3 is also showing the next 7s as disk drives...... But Item 2, adb enabled mode??????? I have followed the link that Bob posted (oh.. about 30 times.) and I still cannot get adb to recognize that the device exists. I have also loaded, removed and reloaded android sdk nearly 10 times. What could I possibly be doing wrong? I'm sure it is something simple but after 5 days, I still cannot figure it out. I know it can be done because I see many people have been able to do it. Any last ideas before I give up completely?

this didn't work for me, it ends in an error. I couldn't get the rooted ROM to flash either, it seemed to flash successfully but stays on boot screen. Not sure what to do now, It is the right serial number not sure what is wrong but I have no ROM now. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I tried using this to flash back to the stock rom, but the kernel file was missing! How am I supposed to reflash it?

The kernel on the stock ROM is built into boot.img. Just uncheck the kernel.... which I though I set as default UNCHECKED in the flash tool for this ROM?

Thanks Bob, I'll go try that now! And the kernel was checked by default so I assumed that it was needed. Hopefully putting my tablet back to the stock rom will fix the wifi problems I have been having

Wanted to thank Finless for the rooted rom for the next7s. Also, what build.prop are people using so the Play store and other apps sees the tab as a tablet, and not a phone.

If you follow the instructions in the read me, and follow them exactly, you will have a rooted Tablet.

do you guys have the next7s or the next 7p s tablet? because i rooted a next7s tablet and have been having problems with it restarting on its own and trouble startin up
