We barely got 3188 sticks working right recently and the 3188T just sucks DICK on everything. You can't even OC the GPU! Most 3188T's cant OC past 1.6 yet ALL my 3188's OC to 1.8 perfectly even without a heat sink! I have NO IDEA what RockChip was thinking by making the 3188T. I think they had silicon fallout making 3188's and decided to use them as 3188T's and offer a cheaper proc. Might be fine for some applications BUT NOT when we can barely get full blow 3188 chips to rock video playback!

FYI, To this day my BEST and most USED RK boxes are my Minix X7 and my CX-919 both running 4.2.2 JB.
However, I recently started using my JynxBox M6 and even my wife noticed the difference in video color, quality, and streaming! So that is what I am using right now as my "Wife Friendly" box .

Example of why... Geekbuying, one of the top resellers, seemed to be unaware that they were carrying RK3188T's until it was brought to their attention. So the questions becomes ... did they know and not ad

I know that Minix has said they would never use the RK3188T chip in their products... I've also seen that Ugoos UT2 won't be using the T chip... but I'm uncertain about the rest of their products since I've not hear about it. I've not heard about other companies one way or the other... so I'd be reluctant to guess which way they choose to go in.
On geekbuying, both the cx919 and mk808 is said to run RK3188T chip. Is it true ?
And what is the difference between them. I cannot find out.

The minix x7 and x7neo is turning out to be the most probable of me buying.

I notified the company about a week ago, and provided a sample video but am still waiting for a reply. If they don't fix it, I can't recommend it because dual core devices play video much smoother.

Besides that, bluetooth is pretty poor. On the bright side, I can see the chip through the cooling vents and it appears to be a true rRk3188, no T.

In short, if the video isn't fixed, I am returning it to Amazon.
I've taken apart TimingPower RK3188 there is a true RK3188 not T. Use November firmware there is no frame skipping bug. All the new firmwares they release their engineers either forgot or don't realize issue is there.

I returned mines back to Amazon because HDMI DD5.1/DTS passthrough was not working. Stereo HDMI passthrough worked.

I'm glad I purchased from Amazon because of their return policy. Buying stuff off **** from China or GeekBuying it's really difficult to return stuff.

Actually, since I posted that - I used someone's tutorial on this forum to take the latest firmware and patch it to improve the Timingpower RK3188 video. Now it's very smooth - I'm streaming 1080P files from my network and there's noframeskip ping going on anymore. I contacted the Timingpower rep - and gave him my patched firmware, and he acknowledged the problem. Since then they've posted their own beta firmware which has a different fix than the one I applied. I've just continued to use my own firmware since it's working great right now.

I kept the Timingpower device because it works so well with my Lapdock. My Imito QX1 gave all sorts of artifacts on the Lapdock' screen - the result was unwatchable. Bluetooth is still pretty poor. Bluetooth and wifi conflict with each other - bluetooth is better without wifi and vice versa. Bluetooth compatibility is terrible - only 2 of the 6 devices I tried, paired. That said - the one generic bluetooth headset that paired (Syllable D50) - works flawlessly even with video. Listening to bluetooth audio, there's no lip sync issues with video. The audio stays in sync over bluetooth .

Right now I only have one big complaint with this mini pc. It has a headphone jack which would be perfect for the Motorola Lapdock which doesn't have one - but audio goes out to the headphone jack AND HDMI audio no matter what. So there's no way to listen privately, unless you can mute the monitor (lapdock audio is automatic). I've requested that you be able to select either sound source instead of having both on constantly - but I don't know if they'll ever install that fix.
