Pipo M9 Pro not recognized by Windows

    Hi
I'm trying to flash my M9 Pro with the Riley ROM, but for some reason my Windows 7 Prof 64 Bit doesn't recognize my tablet. I'm using the original USB-MicroUSB cable and when I plug it in the screen of my tablet goes on, but absolutely nothing else happens. No notification on my tablet, no sound/movement/nothing on Windows, the ROM_Flash_Tool doesn't recognize it, absolutely nothing. Can anyone help me on this? Obviously something must be happening due to the screen turning on. I've read that the cable might be just too short and I figured that maybe not all connectors touch? Just a guess..

I recall having some trouble getting the Rockchip drivers to load, initially, on Windows 7 64bit...but I eventually got it. In the First Time User's Guide, there is a section on installing those drivers manually...look at that and see if you can get the drivers installed properly. It isn't as bad as Windows 8...but Win7 is still kind of a PITA.

Unfortunately the device isn't even shown in the device manager.. I assume that you mean the part where I right click the unknown device in the device manager and press "update driver software".. Right?

Yes. Make sure you are using a USB 2.0 port...not USB 3.0.

I had some problem myself but got it to work eventually
does it recognice your device if you try to transfer some files or movies from the computer to it?
Because at first i did not use the original mini-Usb cable and when i did it worked better(not perfect)

Nö, since nothing happens on my PC I don't know how to try and transfer files to it. Really it happens nothing on my PC. Nor on the tablet except that the screen goes on when I cconnect it. That's it. :/

I want to add that I charged my tab up to 100% and after about 5,5h the battery was at 24%. Is that normal? It was just laying around as I was asleep..

edit2: I want to say what I did exactly. Maybe there's an error somewhere..
              1. I disabled USB Debugging on my tablet
              2. I connected it to my PC --> didn't work, only tablet screen turns on
              3. I followed the instructions, went into the ROM folder (Pipo_M9_Pro_RileyROM_2.5.2_KitKat), then into Rockchip_Driver_Installer, executed the file DriverInstall.exe and pressed "install driver" and confirmed the two installations.
              4. I connected my tabelt to my PC and the same result as 2. --> display of tablet turns on, nothing more happens

No ideas anyone? Should I return it/get a new one?

Yeah, that sounds like a hardware problem.

Just to be sure, I have to plug the normal USB-MicroUSB cable into the USB port, right?

Yes, the USB port, not the host port.

How can I install an update from the internal memory? I downloaded DS1007_M9pro_4.4.2_20131226.rar (WiFi only, but I read somewhere that it works with 3G too), extracted it and copied it to the internal memory with teamviewer. Some instructions I found on a german forum said that I then have to reboot, confirm some popup window, let it update and reboot. But of course the popup window doesn't come.. Any ideas?

You have to extract the .img file from the .rar and rename it update.img. Then copy it to the root of your internal SD. It doesn't always work, but worth a try.

Not to the root dir tho right? /mnt/sdcard/ is correct, right? If yes, how do I do that without root or how can I get root access without a USB connection?
How do I get into recovery mode? Couldn't I just boot it out of there?

By root, I mean the root directory of the drive.

If you are trying to install the factory firmware, you won't get root.

You are treading new ground for me...I've never done it this way. Surely there's a way you can get a USB connection. Have you tried a different PC?
