I'm interested in the kernel source for this device. Can anyone confirm for me what this github repo is? Is this the latest kernel source for our beloved mk808b?

Nice! I have actually been curious about this ever since it was mentioned on omegamoon blog that there was a chance it would happen on RK3066 devices. Really surprised nobody made a thread yet about it...

The Omegamoon source is for the kernel only, correct?

There are over 3 threads about this.

Rukusx7 Yea, that's what I'm trying to figure out. Very unclear about whether partition layout matters here, etc... It all goes over my head.

I meant to say I was surprised nobody made a thread about it in the MK808 subsection

You should check out the kernel development section here as well. I'm getting used to the run of things here slowly. I want to be able to compile my own roms and kernels soon. What partition layout are you referring to? Isn't that sort of set in stone for the device?

On the past omegamoon compiled kernel thread, it says
In order to use these kernels, you'll need....
              • to be on a Finless ROM already due to the difference in partition layouts. I'll recommend what I used, Finless' 1.6 ROM. DO NOT TRY to install the kernel on stock ROMs with Clockwork Recovery. You have been warned.
I am using Prahjister's 4.2 ROM, and I think I remember reading that 4.1 and 4.2 use different partition layout, so I don't know if it will be a problem to use Prahjister ROM, especially since I have CWM installed.

For some reason, I thought Kernel Development section wasn't open to all members. I am on the brink of installing Debian, and considering looking into how to create ROMs, but would probably sooner learn to create an app.

Ive got alot of learning to do, Ive compiled roms for my phone, but this seems like a whole other ballpark right now. Shouldnt be too difficult to figure out. I dont know much about the kernel dev section, but I know I can read everything thats there and thats good enough for me. I'm using Linux Mint 16 for my Android build environment. Works quite well. Although my rigs down for some upgrades at the moment.
