NextBook 7P1N w/ ICS

    NextBook 7P1N w/ ICS

    Hi everyone,

    I recently brought a NextBook 7" capacitve touchscreen android 4.0 ICS model from a 1 day deal website in New Zealand. I'm not sure where they imported it from however. The devices serial number starts: YF0512

    It has a regular size SD slot, RK2918 chipset, 1ghz processor, 512MB DDR3 RAM.

    Unlike the Premium 7SE model it has no camera or mic. The only hard button on the device is the power button, no volume rocker.

    I'm curious to find out if anyone else has purchased this model? I was expecting the Premium 7SE model to land at my door but instead got this model. I think its a newer model given the serial number date: 05 12.

    Very odd version you have there. It must be some model they are not distributing in USA.

    It sounds like it is the original nextbook 7P but with a ICS ROM. If that is the case this ROM dump you sent me could make a lot of existing nextbook 7P users happy if it works!


    Take a look at these pictures and see if it is this one. This is what the original nextbook 7P looked like.

      If this is the case, I will be one of the very happy NB 7P users. I guess for now, I can only hope. I love ICS and how it looks and flows.

          Yep thats the one. Although mine only has four small hard navigation buttons onfront as opposed to five on the one above. Might have some conflicting hardware if other things are different on the inside too but won't know until someone tries my ROM I guess.

          Kind of pissed I didn't get the 7SE rather this re-done Premium 7 but oh well. Hope this will mean others get to update theres to ICS. Works really well on this tablet, very smooth and responsive.

            Sorry for the delays. I got hung up completing my ClockWork MOD for my ROMs.

            Anyway I did do a file compare of this ROM to the other new nextbook ROMs and it is different. The kernel is different and may of the /system files.

            So you have a unique model here for sure.

            I will work on both a STOCK ROM flash kit and a fully rooted with GPlay flash kit.

              Stock ROM available

              OK first ROM up is the Stock ROM based on Joshedny's ROM dump.
              I tested it on my Arnova and it boots.

                Confirmed this ROM is for older NB 7P tabs

                CONFIRMED by a Yf1211 older Nextbook 7P users.

                This hardware IS the older nextbook 7P and this ROM I made works on it. Cannnot confirm if it works on other Yf0811, 1011, etc yet. Users will have to report back.

                    Root ROM with GPlay is done and testing it now.

                    Expect a full root ROM with GPlay in about 1 hour.

                        Josh, I have given you credit in my read me for sure! You my firend will make a lot of people happy with older Nextbook Tabs! You got a tablet somehow that does not exist but may just allow people to get ICS on all Np7's.

                          Thanks Bob! I posted in the ADB guide topic with the details on how I got my ROM dumped. Here's hoping it'll help some people out.

                          Don't want to go off topic but I wanted to say I was suprised to see you here Bob. I've built a Trex 250, 450, 500, 600 all while watching your build videos! I had no idea you did things other than RC helis
