Pipo M9 Pro RileyROM 2.5.2 Jellybean

On 3/6/14, Pipo released a firmware update for the M9 Pro tablet featuring Jellybean...Android 4.2.2. So as to not mess up my numbering system, I've created a new thread and kept the same version number but with the Jellybean designation.

Much of the difference in this ROM vs the last Freaktab ROM with Jellybean (Finless 1.5) were software updates...many of which were removed in the debloat process. I'm not aware of any other changes in the firmware...but Pipo doesn't provide a change log.

This ROM has all of the features of the Finless version:

    Rooted
    Debloated
    Init.d Support
    Google Play Store fixes
    Spoofing to a Samsung device
    Wifi tweak to increase reception
Working TWRP Recovery (installed after the first boot)
Auto Install of APK files on first boot, if you have the apk's in a folder on external SD called autoinstall
    Reboot App by Petrus
    Boot Animation by Tattman65

Read the First Time User's Guide for flashing instructions and tips.

    Download

    Enjoy!!!!!!

OK don't be upset but I will be releasing 1.6 of my own.

I have a few more tweaks I found in this ROM
e.g. other JUNK and some widgets that burn up resources even when not used.

    Bob
"Pzebacz im, bo nie wiedzą, co czynią"
"Прости им, они не ведают, что творят"
"Perdona loro perché non sanno quello che fanno"
"Vergib ihnen, denn sie wissen nicht, was sie tun"
"Vergeef hen want ze weten niet wat ze doen"
"Pardonne-leur car ils ne savent pas ce qu'ils font"
"Perdónalos porque no saben que lo que hacen"
"Oprosti im, jer ne znaju što čine"
"Forgive them as they know not what they do"

No problem, Bob. I didn't know if you had time for another M9 Pro ROM.

Get android guy laying on his back with the front door open for repair

After flashing this ROM I am getting the image of the android guy laying on his back with his belly open like he's being worked on. I used the parameter6 file to flash. I am going to give it another shot with the default parameter file and see what happens.

Update: flashing with the default parameter file gives the same result.

Update 2: I'm stupid...I needed to flash the 1.24 loader because I had the 2.08 loader. Once I did that it boots up fine.

Thanks for your hard work on this rrileypm!

          spoofing is counter-productive

          Hi,

Not really a critisism, just something to think about:

The more people spoof the worse our market share appears, and the less our devices will be supported.

Better to stick with Pipo and provide instructions for swapping; better yet a light-switch app for temporarily swapping out the string to let you pick up those elusive apks.

Big thanks for this most recent RileyROM update.

Unfortunately, for me TWRP Recovery failed to be insalled at the first booting.
Is this happened only to me?

Is there a way to install the TWRP Recovery separately?

Just download the file from Abdul_pt's thread and flash it with the flash tool. Uncheck everything except recovery and direct the tool to the file you downloaded. Don't erase idb.

                      Thanks for quick reply.
Do you mean TWRP 2.7.0.0 for Rockchip's?

If this is not the most recent version, would you mind giving a link to the right thread?

                      Thanks in advance.

The 2.7 batch is the latest version. Sorry, I'm mobile today...but you found the right link.

At first, thanks for your work.
Everything is fine at first glance, Antutu gives to my GT-I9300 18868 points, same score with 26 Dec.'13 Rom (stock kernel).
What i not understand is why default launcher not autorotate (landscape to portrait is a no go...landscape to landscape/flip works ok), only opening apps allow screen to rotate landscape to portrait...so should be in your Rom, or is an error in my device? I think it has to be something wrong related to columns number and shortcuts dimension.
Autobrightness works Ok, i have to try GPS
                          Thanks again!!
L.E Amazing WiFi/3G signal with this Rom..~ 20% signal increase in 3G.....~5 - maybe 10% increase with WiFi , but i'll have to check battery drain/DeepSleep overnight.

Thanks for the update. I'm not sure about the rotation thing.
