Accessing NFS shares on a PiPo tablet

    Hi!

I've been using my PiPo M8HD tablet with the new RileyROM 1.6 which is great btw. There is one feature though which would be very welcome but I'm not sure if it's possible to make it happen. I have all my media files shared on my home network via SMB & NFS.

So is it any way possible to access NFS shares on my PiPo tablet since it seems like a lot better and faster file sharing protocol than SMB?

    Hi,

I've done this with my M8HD with JB 4.2.2
I will test it with RileyRom 1.6 and tell you .

        Hi,

CIFS shares are working perfectly, I use ES explorer to mount the share.

But I can't get NFS share as I do for 4.2.2

        I'm using terminal Emulator.

        I create a directory :
        mkdir /mnt/sdcard/nfs

        I get root access
        su

        and mount my nfs share
        busybox mount –t nfs –o nolock IP:/shared_dir /mnt/sdcard/nfs

But I get : Failded no such device

What it's strange, when I do lsmod, I don't see nfs module : it seems that is not mounted in boot.

If I do 'insmod' for all the modules that nfs used (sunrpc.ko auth_rpcgss.ko lockd.ko nfs.ko)
all modules are loaded correctly except nfs, the command doesn't finish.

So maybe the nfs.ko is not compatible with kitkat nor the M8HD

Yeah I've been using CIFS shares but I'd like to use NFS because of the faster transfer speeds. It's a shame it didn't work out. Maybe sometime in the future... Or if somebody knows more about this please reply to this thread.
