CX919 connecting to PC not working

    Hello,

I am experinecing problems when trying to connect to PC via USB by holding the fn button but the when the system is trying to install the drivers it returns error. I even found some drivers and installed them manually and then I received the device has been installed but no new device has been created in device manager nor I can see additional drives so I'm using dropbox.
Tried in all USB ports of which at least one is USB 2.0, so no clue what to do next.

are you using the pc with windows 8 OS?

try to find a pc loaded with windows 7 or xp,it will make it easier.

you can find the drivers information here

or if you have win8, read the instruction here

As before installed drivers connected and received the message device successfully installed, I can see it in device manager but I can't see the drives in explorer, don't know how to access the stick memory

That's because you actually booted to flash mode, if u want to connect it as a thumb drive the os has to be running, but I didn't try that at all. I use samba server to send files over the network.

              Thanks!
I think I'll stick to dropbox. As far as connecting it to pc as a usb memory stick, tried with or without pressing the fn button , I even tried to connect a secon USB cable as a power supply , wait for the os to boot and then connect it to usb but no luck...

I never did that yet, but probably you have to confirm a notification on screen to do so, depending on the method used by the stick...

I had similar problems and tried many things and at the end I decided to use two usb cables: 1 from DC socket to power plug and one from OTG to a 2.0 usb port of a windows 7 64 bit laptop. In the following you can find what I did:

                  1) CX-919 set-up
1.1) get a second usb cable. One cable is used for connection to power plug, the second cable for connection from OTG to USB PC port
1.2) disable wifi and bt (not sure this is necessary, but I did it)
1.3) connect the HDMI cable to your TV
1.4) power on CX-919, but dot connect it to the PC
                  2) install Rockchip drivers on the PC (good explication with pictures here http://www.tronsmart.eu/downloads/)
2.1) download RK_DriverAssitant.zip (ask google). This is a tool by Rockchip to simplify drivers installation
                  2.2) unzip and run Release_DriverAssitant\DriverInstall.exe
2.3) again, do not connect the usb cable from OTG
                  2.4) click on disinstall driver
                  2.5) click on install driver
2.6) accept to install driver(s) from Rockchip
2.7) there may be more than one request to install drivers
                  3) configure Rockchip vendor to adb (0x2207 in vendor id for Rockchip)
                  3.1) go to c:\Users\<your username> folder
3.2) if not there, create .android folder (the dot is important)
3.3) edit or modify adb_usb.ini file by writing following row at the end of the file
                  0x2207
                  4) connection
4.1) connect the cable from CX919 OTG to an USB 2.0 port of your PC
4.2) on CX-919 go to settings -> USB -> Connect to PC and select the box
4.3) if all the drivers were successfully loaded in previous step (good luck) from the dos prompt run
                  adb start-server
                  adb devices
4.4) your CX-919 should appear in the list (good luck again)
                  5) if 4) is not successfull, retry with another usb 2.0 port

At this point all the drivers were available and I was able to install ROM Finless 1.6b. I had only a minor problem, that an error while trying to go to flash mode with ROM_Flash_Tool_137.exe, but RKBatchTool.exe in folder alternate_reboot_to_flash_tool did the job. After that I went back to ROM_Flash_Tool_137.exe for flashing the ROM.
