    XBMC booting question

    Hey There,

I'm all new in the Androidbox world. And bought a minix neo x7. XBMC looks good. but is it possible to automaticly boot it?? Because i have a wife and child who doesn't know how it works.

And if XBMC autoboots, in combination with the tablet they can choose the movies. That would be great.

    Kind regards,

    Arjan

Hi. You can use BeyondXBMC 3.3 . Look for it in forum. It will auto start every time. http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...XBMC-(Beta-3-3)

Is this what you mean by "in combination with tablet", using tablet to control MINIX?

Actually it depends on which of the Beyond XBMC versions you use... the standard or Launcher version. Using a launcher version has it's own drawbacks and because of that it normally isn't recommended often. The system sdcard isn't available very early on during system startup so the userdata files which normally are stored on the sdcard aren't available so must be kept on the main system. In addition, the sdcard must be set ( for XBMC ) so it isn't writable to the app in order to avoid possible sdcard corruption ( because it isn't available early enough ). In addition, the system bar at the bottom of the screen doesn't get hidden for any launcher...

What I do... is have an icon on main desktop screen that I can click to start it up. There are also utils that can autostart the apps you select that you could install. Since I prefer to use my device for more than just a media player, I use the icon so I can select to run XMBC when I wish or something else.

          Thx,

Yesterday i installed everything. It looks like it is working. I hadn't had any time yesterday to check it.
Tonight i'm going the have a look again.

Thanks for the information so far.

My girlfriend and son both want to have it directly with startup. If the automatic startup doesn't work, i will have a look at your information.

Try Auto Pilot from Ouya and select XBMC to run at startup.
