    Problem downloading/installing apps pn 10G2

    Another newbie question, I'm afraid.
I can't download apps from Applib or Google Play. I downloaded Aldiko without even thinking about it, so easily that I can't remember how! To get more apps, I tried to sign up with Appslib but it refused to do anything after I'd selected Arnova 10 G2 as my device - just kept on asking me to select one. So I signed up to Google Play and selected Avast mobile antivirus and also TuneIn. Both the INSTALL buttons turned from grey to blue then stuck. Dabbing a few times on the icons, I got to the apps' home pages, only to find both said "loading device compatibility". Endlessly.
Help please! Is it me, or my tablet? (I've had no Internet connection problems and the tablet seems to be working fine otherwise.)
    TIA
PS: Applib wasn't supplied with by B-grade tablet, I tried to sign in via the web.

No sign of it - I speculated earlier that it had been wiped before I got it as a B-grade from Maplin. I've tried letting it set-up again in the hope that the built-in apps would magically appear, but no joy. Earlier, I'd downloaded the apps (from the guy who does all the rom versions, sorry I've forgotten his name) so loaded the appslib from my pc via usb.

When I tried to install it, a merry dance began where I had to register the machine first. This was crazy - it offered "other" as the place I bought it, but wouldn't accept it. I had to put John Lewis, though it wasn't true. Then it wanted a serial number, and wouldn't accept the one on the label on the back (which didn't say serial number) but I found a slightly different one, one digit shorter, on the box. It eventually accepted everything, but didn't say so until I tried again, when it said I'd already done it!

Then I tried to set up Appslib and it just refused to link to my PayPal account - nothing happened when I clicked. I've managed to do it via my pc and am now shaking with horror at the thought of authorising them to take 1000x$200. If I ever get it working, I think I'll download what I want then cancel it!

All this for a couple of free apps! I'm seriously pissed off. What's this "sideloading" I've seen mention of? Is it a way round Appslib/Google Play?

The Arnova Rom that comes with the tablet is poor to say the least. Don't even bother messing trying to get the awful Appslib market working, I would not trust any of my accounts with it. It is full of porn etc not something you want kids seeing, it took me about a day last year when I bought my daughter one to replace it with a custom one

Don't be dis heartened, use one of the Roms that Bob has produced, you will feel like it is a new tab.

First thing is to download the Rom you want to use.

          Either bobs Gingerbread 1.5 Rom

Or his new Gingercomb Rom 2 which has a honeycomb ui

Look in the Rom developers kitchen for them.

You Will need to install the drivers first, follow this guide

          Installing Rockchip drivers for flashing!

This is mighty strange...i would have spoke to maplins about this...it maybe 'b' grade. So possibly used but it should have only been reset to default..
Sideloading a app ...this first you must go to settings...applications...tick the box for unknown sources...then you can either download a. Apk file or from your pc and use file manager to install it on the device..im sure if you google sideloading apps on android it will give you all the details you need....bob..finless does the roms for this tablet and others...hope that helps...i see the maplin price as dropped to 104 for new one....but do what damo says...you be better off...i wouldnt go back to stock
