mk808 finless 1.7c need change wifi mac

Hi, can you guys provide me any working methods to change mk808 mac address. I have tried severals apps from playstore, none of them works. Wifi never gets past the authentication process. The reason I need it is because my landlord only allows 1 mac address for his wifi network. I am trying to copy my pc mac to mk808 when I don't need computer. Thanks

You can read through this thread... it's a lot to take in, though http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...dress-t1385577

The topic post links to v1.03, but later on in the thread there are links for 1.04, 1.05, and I think 1.06... Someone said they had the same problem as you (stuck on authentication)

a possible solution to the authentication error problem is to make the files where android stores the mac (in my case /efs/wifi/.mac.info and /data/.mac.info) READ ONLY ( r--r--r-- ) ... I don't know why but it works for me

NB: other possible files for different devices include .macaddr and .nvmac.info (use a root explorer eg. ES File Explorer to search your phone for any filename containing "mac")
They also mentioned (Post #209) that only the 1.04 version worked for them, but I don't know if they were referring specifically to the "random mac generator" feature, or just in general.

Pick up a wireless router that allows you to use it in bridge mode. Copy your PC's MAC to the router so it can authenticate to the other wireless router... then you just connect your devices/computers to your own wireless router and your landlord will only see one device attached then.

I've been happy with my Netgear WNR2000 but it's only a 2.4Ghz and you may want to consider getting a dual 2.4/5.0Ghz instead just to help "future-proof" it some. Still... this one is relatively inexpensive and does work well... although I haven't tried it in bridge mode. I'm just using the firmware it came with ATM since I don't have other needs to fulfill.

Just tested the 1.04 and 1.06 versions, and I guess since the app was coded for portrait mode, the spoofing options were inaccessible as they aren't visible. I tried scrolling, and I tried using a keyboard to navigate to those options with no luck. I have no idea how you were able to test it, unless maybe by using an app to force orientation? Either way, it doesn't really matter - I got it working with this app that I found on that thread:

As it states on the description, BusyBox has to be installed first, just like the other one. I just punched in some random numbers, hit spoof button, and that was it. I verified that it's using the spoofed mac by logging into the router and looking at the connected wireless clients.

Not 100% sure about 1.7c, but I know at least 1 Finless ROM suffers from a problem where it can't connect to a WEP connection. That's the ONLY reason I don't use Finless' ROM, believe it or not. If you click to connect to a WEP encrypted connection, it just sits there for a second, then gives up.

This is one of apps I tried earlier. Wifi wont connect after I put in my mac. Perhaps it has something to do with my specfic mac address?

I suspected there would be rebooting/reconnecting involved in this process, but it worked without me having to do any of that. I went into android settings -> status and noted what the current mac was. Pulled up my router status page and saw the mk808b mac in the list. All I did was launch the app, typed in twelve 2's, clicked Spoof button, then took a look at my browser again and it was already showing the device with the spoofed mac.

The only thing the app told me was that the 2nd value had to be a two.

Are you sure that you installed BusyBox correctly and that you are granting the mac spoofing app SuperUser access rights?

"The only thing the app told me was that the 2nd value had to be a two". I think this the main cause since my specific MAC begins with 00:66.... Also, I believe finless already included busybox in his firmware. And yes, superuser granted, so did rebooting/reconnecting.

Sorry --- it didn't actually have to be a 2. I'm short on sleep. I think it said it just had to be even. Zero was fine too, I think. I'm pretty sure BusyBox shows up in the app list once it's installed. If you don't see it in your app list, it's probably not installed.
