MK808: crashes after 5' of play

    Hi all,
I have an MK808 (dont know if its clone or not).
Recently started crashing and so I flashed it with Finless 2.1 and then with Finless 1.7c.
With both Finless roms the problem is the same:
if I leave it on, without touching it, or moving the mouse or anything, its ok.
As soon as i open a browser or some other app, after 2-5' it freezes (solid green or red or blue or whaterver colored screen).

Changed power supply, put it under a 100W fan (to keep it cool, but its barely warm anyway), removed everything other than the mouse ....but ...nothing .

Do you have any ideas before I toss it outa the window ?

    thank you all

Are you sure your power supplies were strong enough? You need one that can deliver at least 2A.

And I would say that you have a problem with the power supply

Have the same here , tried 3 different psu and nothing, a lot of roms....well i put a fan and that is now and freeze anyway...
with streamming it freezes faster than everything else...
I think that is something with the gpu memory access...

          hi again
both 'phinc' and 'witch' were right. It WAS a power problem, but not the one we all thought of.
I went back using the original power supply, and then changed the usb-power cable with a much shorter one. The original cable was about 1m long, and I replaced it with a 15-20cm cable. and it works !
I put it through a number of tests (streaming, xbmc, skype video call...), it works fine.
Also removed the fan, added a camera, a 1-2 usb hub with Ethernet cable ....still works effortless.

I dont know if the original cable was crap and its impedance was such that it created that problem or that the power supply was 'just on the limit'. But seemed that it was a power-related problem after all.

          thank you all

I also noticed that when i have my usb cable running from my ps to the mk808 that it takes on interference from other electronics easily...... i wasnt ever able to complete antutu until i rerouted my cable.
