T-R42 HDMI resolution on stock firmware

    Hi all,

Nicholas Here. I just joined the forum after a periode of reading the posts
I have a T-R42 (opened the box and look at the board) 351 v2.0. I connect it to the TV via HDMI. I have two questions:

    1. The resolution shown in XBMC and also Antutu is 1280x720 even while in the setting it is 1920x1080p 60. Is there anyone who has the same problem? I am on stock firmware 14-01-2014. TV is a Philips full HD from 2009.

    2. Everytime I restart the box, the TV display the message: "video format not supported" with a black screen. Then I just take the remote, click on the power button and put the box to sleep and then wake it up again and the screen shows up. Is this normal?

    Thank you

I don't know what version of stock firmware you have but you can try this see if it makes any differences.
Download android terminal app from the market, open the app:
at the $ prompt type: (temporarty switch to 1080 but will reset after a reboot, if it working we can make it permanent later on):

      am display-size 1080x1920 hit enter
use Antutu to verify your resolution.

        Thank you buhohitr
The command is working, however every text becomes really small, and not readable. and Screen resolution in Antutu shows 1920x1008 (I'm sure I typed 1080)! and everything becomes slower (transitions from windows, mouse...)
I use one of the newest stock roms, dated 14-01-2014. and under screen HDMI mode I choose: 1920x1080p-60.
        My TV is Full HD.

Update: Ok, I read somewhere else that I also have to change the DPI by typing:
        am display-density (the dpi)

What is the best DPI for FHD resolution? and how can you make it permanent?
        Thanks.

          Do this to make permanent:
First set HDMI mode to 1920x1080p-60 in display settings
          In terminal type:
          su
          am display-size 1080x1920
          am display-density 240
          reboot
          To roll back
          am display-size 720x1280
          am display-density 160
          reboot
