Stable 1080p ROM / XBMC setup required

    Hi guys,

Thanks for all the information thats been posted here, this is great resource for the Minix Neo X7

I've tried quite a few ROM / XMBC setup combinations, ultimately what I'm looking for is:
    • Rock Stable (ie. 99.9% realible without crashes)
    • Smooth 1080p playback (mkv)
Can anyone recommended a ROM (including overclock) / XBMC combination that meets these two criteria?

So far all the combinations i've tried have either crashed or not been able to smoothly run 1080p mkvs

thanks in advance for any help you're able to give.

    You can chose HardwareGugu firmware

I can second that: Hardwareguru's rom runs all video files smoothly I throw at it (720p,1080p) and has full DTS support.

I have not seen a rom that runs video files as smooth.

      1 small note:

      - the audio in xmbc is offset by about 250ms. You can fix this by installing Aeon Nox skin which has the OSD audio ability to set audio delay as default for all video files.

I'm using Quickshot v2 and Beyond XBMC 3.3, and I'm really happy with the stability and performance of both. I'm not usin OC kernel, but there are many within the rom you can choose, and it comes with an easy flashing tool to change and try the different kernels.

You might want to give it a try and see if it fullfills your needs!

Using hardware guru 3 + beyond XBMC, that does most of the trick for me (however yesterday I watched a top gear episode and it had a small skip every few seconds..). For the rest, i'm almost satisfied with my x7

hi guys, I'm new here. I already have finless rom running, but I want to switch to hardware guru. However, when I download the rar from hardwareguru, I only get a rom file. I'm confused, how do I install that rom file?

                Hi Jeroen,

You can use the RKflashtool to flash te image. The Hardwareguru topic provides with a full guide on how to flash. Do not use the rkdevelopertool, this is used to flash images with a kernel outside of the image.
