Custom Roms installation and best rom live tv

    Hi Guys,

I'm tearing my hair out at the moment spent 5/6 hours on this today.

I've picked up a new minix neo 07 and to be honest out of the box I'm ok with it not over the moon which bought me to this website which things started to look interesting.

I've managed to root it by following - MinixNeoX7_Utility.zip all well and good. then got stuck I wanted to install Guru_X7_1080p_preloaded_04aR1_malipatch_public_HLS as looing through the threads thats the best to use for XBMC and specially live TV bit.

I used RKBatchTool.exe to upload Guru_X7_1080p_preloaded_04aR1_malipatch_public_HLS .img which crashed. so I restored the oringial firmware from minix.hk and got a working system again.

I looked at nitroteam quickshot and used RKAndriodtool which came in the rar file from nitroteam and worked first time all up and working however Live TV is still buffering not as much, but enough. hence wanting to goto GURU package, but I can't find a single guide which will install this? I found http://www.gbcnet.net/showthread.php...mmazza-giganti which I had to google translate followed everything until backuping the configuration, then its says you can load any ROM how?

I'm sorry if I'm missing something straight forward... very new to this and tried everything until I thought I need to write something - any information would be great or a simple guide.

Live TV is my main concern HD / SD channels and MKV with DTS - so someone may advise a better ROM, I don't know why I'm having so much more trouble instaled GURU rather than the nitroteam install.

    Please help a n00bie!

    Thanks

try RoDiSte ROM. You found the dl-link at my blog http://minix7.wordpress.com or under http://www.rs-lab.de/downloads/NeoX7...e-ROM-2.07.zip . Im using it since several months and it works fine with AllMyTV, MX Player, XBMC and so far.

I'll just go over this briefly and it will give you info you can then search for to get more details if you need them ( I didn't )...

There are two general methods commonly used to flash a ROM...

RKBatchTool lets you flash a ROM image that is one single file containing all of the separate parts of a ROM. After making sure it see's your device... You select which ROM file in the top part and then click the Upgrade button below.

RKAndroidTool which can flash the individual areas of a ROM... this allows you to mix and match more by allowing to select which kernel or boot image etc you may want. After ensuring it detects your device... Select each area's component, erase the IDB and then flash.

There are numerous how-to's with pics out there that you can find ( if you know what you are looking for ) so I won't recreate those here.
