RK3188 TV Stick w/ 5 GHz and antenna wire

    Hi,

Is there a TV stick with the RK3188 with 5 Ghz and and wire antenna mounted in the case?

Specifically an RK3188 with an AP6330?

    Thanks

The only way to have a dual band working on Android will be to have the actual drivers compiled. Otherwise no dice. The only other solution will be a repeater (dual band router that has repeater mode) which can be connected via ethernet to usb adapter.

        Why don't you use this?

He was talking about a dual band (hence 5Ghz). The only Android device supporting this will be the new Amlogic S802.

The X7 is dual-band and it has a standard rubber duck antenna which can be extended ofc, but i dont know if it has a AP6330 chip since i've never went that far with it, i barely use it tbh, would love to Tether in 5ghz but i have never seen any info of android being able to do JUST that.

Oh yeah!! I forgot about the X7 but then again he was talking about a stick & not a set-top box. The simplest way will be to buy a usb adapter with AC & call it a day. Of course this will be possible on linux but not on android; as of yet????

I believe my Measy U4B meets this description. However the performance on 5GHz hotspot is very poor even when I use it with the case open and the antenna pointed towards the router which is about 1.5 meter away. Somehow using the 2.4GHz hotspot from the same router achieves better performance.

My subscribed speed is 30Mbps. Tested speeds are around 15M on 5G and 25M on 2G.

that is very normal, as 5GHz needs twice as much power as 2.4GHz to perform well. That should be a drawback with Sticks, Boxes have more powerful DC chargers which makes it possible to juice 5GHz properly.

Again, keep in mind, 5GHz is uncharted territory, at least in Android.
