Issue with new power supply units currently being shipped with Mk808B

I have an issue with these new ones marked (3) in the picture, model no.JC-0050 power units.

The output is very poor and will reduce the life or kill the Mk808.

The first video shows unit (1) , very well designed quite clean output.
The spikes on the 2nd link is the JC-0050 , very poor imho

On the technical side, it is connected to the oscilloscope, monitoring the 5v USB out of a powered up MK808B.

    Hi all,

I just got my MK808B and it came supplied with a 3pin power unit that obviously was inserted to replace the original 2 pin unit. (3pin is mandatory in UK/Ireland).

However the power unit is reated at 5V 1.0A , and would not power the MK808B. It works perfectly with an Apple iPad usb power unit which is rated at 2.1Amp.

I've contacted the supplier and am hoping for some resolution.

    My questions are :

What power supply rating is being supplied with all MK808B at present ?
What is the absolute minimum rating that will work ?

I see that in the pics above two show 5V 2A for the two good units.

        Thanks Ed,

        Valuable info there

In all the threads I've read, I see no reference to the actual current drawn by the MK808B. Has anybody
done some tests to see what it does require at maximum activity ?

Reading current with the small usb connectors we deal with nowadays is a bugger, unless you sacrafice a cable to science and breakout the wires

When you buy a USB charger, how do you know if you're getting a safe, high-quality charger for your money? You can't tell from the outside...

            Brilliant stuff there.

            Ken Shirriff's blog = 5 stars

            PS

My supplier accepted my rejection of the supplied power unit.
            Gave me a £3.00 refund .
Will now buy a good one locally armed with all this info.

              Low power consumption mini pc

I am so tired of using big heavy power hungry desktop PC after a few years.
I want something small ,portable, takes up little space. Then finally I found one called MINI PC which can meet my needs. Then I found P105,a truly desktop class Mini PC which fits in the palm of your hand.

What's more ,its low cost with unit price start from $49 only and with low power consumption.
If you are also interested in it ,you can get more details: http://www.giayee.com/android-pc/p105-mini-pc.html

I`m not getting notifications for this thread for some reason.

To sum up the LA-520W power supply is one of the best (imho) for TV sticks, MK808B etc.
