Quick Question: What do you use your tablet for?

I get a variety of requests to add new features and improve upon performance of these tablet ROMs. I was thinking that it would be fun to have a thread to tell how you use your device.

Do you play games? Watch movies? Surf? Navigate? Etc......

I'm really just curious....but if you have a unique use, please share.

I guess I'm not the only dev who doesn't actually get to enjoy his tablets much...

When I'm not flashing ROMs for testing, I mostly carry one around the house or out to the garage to listen to Pandora or browse the web while doing other things. Occasionally, I use them to watch streaming video. Very rarely do I do any gaming or such on them...

I try to avoid firing up a PC so use mine for all internet based stuff, browsing, emails, Facebook, YouTube, banking, Tapatalk, Skype etc as well as some language learning apps: at the moment DuoLingo is my favourite.

Sent from Tapatalk on my m6pro running RR 1.8 KK, kernel low V2

I usually use my M6pro for test kernel mod, but first of all I use it for browsing, email app, wi-fi power tests and rarely watching movies (only in the evenings/nights when I'm out for work).
Never used for games (only a couple of time, but only for stability testing).
In my opinion a tablet is not a device suitable for hardcore gaming...

I usually use my M6 Pro for reading ebooks as carrying the printed books is like hell! Otherwise mostly for internet browsing, chat clients and mails. Often used it to play movies using HDMi on my big TV

Hahaha....I'm just like Shaun and Giouncino....I'm more focused on testing and developing than playing games and running apps.

Since my hospital work PC has internet blocked...I use one of my tablets to surf when I'm not busy. Tapatalk is my most used app.

Since I was a kid, I've always been an aviation enthusiast so when I'm bored...I fire up an app called Flightradar24 and watch all of the aircraft flying over. To me, it's pretty amazing.

Since I'm always flashing new ROMs on each of my devices, my Titanium Backup has a few core apps:

Android Assistant - for extracting apk files for ROM use, to always have the most up to date versions...easier than Titanium

            Antutu Benchmark

            Flightradar24

            Netflix

Chrome, Opera Mini, Puffin browsers...I use Chrome mostly.

            Of coarse, Tapatalk

            Terminal Emulator

            tTorrent

            Apex launcher with Stealth theme

            X-plore file manager

Xposed Framework with Gravitybox, Multi-users modules

            Thumb Keyboard

            That's pretty much it.

I use mine for a variety of uses, I use it for web surfing and daily for word processing and spreadsheets in meetings. But out of the box uses I use it for is in music production and on gigs. I do loads of gigs around Manchester in UK, and use sequencers and synth programs on stage when am on drums to add the extra sounds you can't get with just guitars in a band. I can't afford a crash while on a gig so these tablets do the job really well. On bass, vocal or trumpet gigs I have my music scanned into a massive PDF and use the tablet instead of a huge folder of music. The retina display makes this an excellent use for the tablet.

I of course do all the usual stuff, Netflix, mp3, emulation etc. It basically has taken over from my laptop.

As above "mostly browsing" but internet radio, mp3's, some office apps, trying to come to terms with some building plan apps, a lot of playing around to see what works etc.

Office apps playing with TextMaker atm but have a few others, playing with Floor Plan Creator to see if I can work quicker than with a pad and pencil (it may be neater), find ImageMeter useful for snapshots with annotations. play with AutoDesk SketchBook - needs a stylus not my fat fingers.

Like ES File Explorer and Total Commander, run Nova Launcher, TouchPal keyboard, Nook and Kindle, wish the compass and star maps would work, no games for me, Open Street maps and the google stuff.

Mostly finding the upgrade to KK RR2.7 has made the M7Pro tablet more useable somehow, loving this tablet more, more than a nice toy now.

I use mine for privately surfing porn

                      lolz,

                      In decreasing order:

                      email and web surfing, calendar.

reading magazines, watching tutorial movies and rss greader

As remote for my xbmc raspberry py
and run xbmc on the tablet, since it is the best app to play, view movies, my pictures which are all on my nas in the garage.

some first aid tools when on the road to fix problems at my work: ad explorer, rdp, zadmin, unixadmin

planning tours, noting poi with locus

                      some games when I'm bored.

I use my M9Pro for watching TV - Downloaded (thank you)BBC in the UK and streamed PPTV from Korea - the HDMI output to my SONY TV works perfectly - and the zoom function is great at getting the whole screen in - WAY better than my SONY laptop!
Reading books on Kindle - MUCH easier than on my Note!
Surfing - both with chrome and stock browser as sometimes chrome is blocked (in China)
VPN for getting out of China - pptp is sometimes blocked which is why I also use OpenVPN
Office Docs - Kingsoft Office works better for me than quick office and Acrobat for PDF's of course
Skype, Linked in, QQ and WeChat for comms to family & customers in & out of China
Emails - both Gmail and stock
Navigation - need to be able to get around in this country! People are still amazed I can get around on my own over here.
Music - just use the Google play for now - if I want to listen to proper music I play a record (yes, one of those black plastic things!)
That's about it for now - it is an amazing device and is getting more and more stable over the months - so much so that my hankering after a 'real' tablet is disappearing, although to replace a real computer I would need a bigger screen as I also look at engineering drawings - I may even pay the money for the edrawings app that will then allow me to check 3D models as well.
                          Cheers, Colin.
I use my note for porn !! can't have my daughter finding out!!
