Having problem going 2.2 to 2.7kk

Trying to flash 4.4 RileyRom 2.7 over RileyRom 2.2 via win7 laptop, I am following the pdf, first time V8, this is my second upgrade having gone from stock to 2.2 with no problems via same lappy – so drivers should be good ? yea?

I have switched off debugging, unmounted the sd card, I run the usb cable, don’t chose usb storage, seem good to go.

I run ROM_Flash_Tool_137.exe and get the "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Usb” line at the bottom, I then click the button that says "Reboot2Flash", I get the message “Device cannot do switch, because of no drive.”

I now run the RKBatchTool in the “alternate_reboot_to_flash_tool” folder, this returns a fail, I try a manual switch (not really understanding what I want to achieve) holding power and esc, the pipo reboots, I am back where I started.

Perhaps I don’t need to switch or reboot to flash and can go straight into erase IDB then flash the rom but am not keen to go if it’s not the right thing to do. I am sure I am missing a point somewhere but……….

Thanks for reading this, I have searched the posts but cannot find any clues.
if this should be in current rom's please move it.

First, check your USB connection. Use the Pipo cable.

Hold the esc button and press and hold the power button until you see the tablet in loader mode on the flash tool.

Thanks Randy, I had convinced myself it was a driver problem

came off the win7 laptop on to the xp desktop, same same, trying a number of usb cables, all long enders, for some reason just pushed a bit more on the tab connection, wowsers, tab seen, switch made, flash done while all was good,,,,,, google now updating stuff.

Interesting toggles on home screen, something to get used to.

Regards to you all, thanks for the rom and the help, laters Mick dancing bananas what next
