MK902 Screen intermittently blanking out is frustrating

Ok your tv is 1080 i have you tried to set the box and tv to 720 p? as dont see that listed in posts, if that doesnt work, Try changing hz Maybe the 18v will be the end all solution for getting every tv every model and every make to work but i dont think it will, i use a garage sale reciever at shop because it has hdmi and sound pass through. (and i am cheap) it worked on one when could never get working with our blue ray player that never worked on it when we plugged it in directly? first tv made with hdmi the standards where not really set and some dont do the hand shake well.

The firmware that mk902 comes with is default at 720p so it is the only one I have tried on this new unit. However, on the one I RMAed I did try some 1080 kernels and I got the same behavior. I guess I could try a 1080 kernel again.

My other TV is a little bit more of a thornier issue. It is a very old 42 inch Sylvania plasma that does not have HDMI inputs. It does 720p fine, but it will only do 1080i and not 1080p through the component inputs. I am using one of these to provide HDMI inputs. The mk802iiis(b) works wonderfully through this as well as blue raw players. (Just have to make sure not to use 1080p)

But I get exactly the same blanking behavior when trying to use the mk902. (I have tried several different cables in both situations.)

try smic kitkat rom ? Finding issues like connecting to an old tv is hard i know frustrating but making sure it just that tv only that helps because if doing same on another then different issue, i know jdefence has been trying the 1.8 v but not having much luck with it and always the chance of brick testing with voltages,,,,

if it is just on that model then try turning off option progressive scan 3d and try different screen modes, standard, fill, ect

OK I tried all different screen modes. (Standard Fill Overscan)

In all cases, a blueray player works perfectly on my Westinghouse TV.
In all cases, my mk80iiis(b) works perfectly on my Westinghouse TV.
In all cases, my RMAed mk902 has screen blanking episodes.

I looked and the Westinghouse TV does not have "progressive scan 3d".

I tried flashing the mk902 with smic's new "V2" ROM. Same thing.

BTW, I already new a long time ago it is not hardware related. Its software.

And I am starting to get hugely pessimistic that I am actually going to see a stable ROM.

YES YES I can hear you now. Its stable for you. Well its not for me.

And before you pull out the "older monitor" argument, let me ask, why would someone even want a box like this for a newer monitor, when its becoming harder and harder to find a TV without smart TV functions built in? There is no reason to own a mk902 unless you want to up the capability of an older monitor.

Forgive the rant but I am hugely frustrated and its obvious I am not alone.

Ill ask again, does it work another TV? (With no flickering) Testing so dont care if everything else you have works on it. The code for hdmi is not changed in the build its actually the same as lot of other but density in some of the other makers roms are bit different, and some changed by those wanting different 120-240 ect,

I put request for same model one guy has one that he will be able to drop off next week ( thank God its a 26 inch) I was right it is a progressive scan TV no 1080p it will only do interlaced mode. Till I get it let me know about above.

OK I know I have been an uber-PITA about this but smics latest kitkat rom seems to have solved the screen blanking issue so I am happy.
