    1920x1080@30Hz

I have seen some custom roms adding 1920x1080@30&24Hz to the screen settings. How can we manualy add it? Is there a program or adb command?

It needs to be exposed in kernel as well as ROM

it's not needed in rom, but in kernel. all my kernels support these solutions.

Presumably yes but then you would need to lose an existing resolution. Also you'd need Bob to find the pattern change and then we'd need to get someone to edit the perl script.

At the moment there are far more interesting things like new kernel sources for rk3188 kitkat and atmel quadcore kit.

I got reboots when I added it to my 2.x and 3.x kernels but I've added a lot of additional resolutions in the latest v4 test kernels.

So if KitKat is running well in the near future we don't need JB anymore!
