    K-R42: black screen only, dead?

    Hi all,

My K-R42 has been working for 3 months. Now all of a sudden, I do not get a HDMI signal. I can still flash the device, and tried multiple firmwares, but this does not help (hybrid firmware beta and stable, wasser firmware)

    Any suggestions?

Your nand chip is possibly getting corrupted. Confirmed by lots of people to cause no signal issue or bootloops or random restarts.

Enter maskrom mode and flash the stock rom again.
Use a paperclip between all the pins on your nand chip and turn the power adaptor's end in the tv box to turn it off/on easily to try with a different pin.
Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7's green block will turn blue if correctly done.

        Great tip!
Unfortunately, I cannot get the box in mask rom mode.
        It's a T-R42 B351 v1.1 PCB with a TOSHIBA TC58TEG6DCJTA00 NAND chip. I've tried all pins but without succes.
So you do not need to connect it to power, only press the power button with the OTG cable connected to a pc with Batchtool 1.7 running?

You need it powered by the ac power adapter and connected with the OTG port to your PC.
You should not hold the reset button underneath the box or press the power button, the light should stay red.
I also have a Toshiba nand chip and the right pins were on the left side, somewhere from the bottom with the 'Toshiba' name readable not upside down.
Bend the tip of a paperclip and press it down between two pins and then connect the power adapter and then a blue square will show up in Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7 instead of a green square when you hold the reset button.

            My procedure:
            1) connect to PC via OTG cable
            2) connect pin 8 and 9 with needle and hold needle there
            3) plug in power
            4) blue box lights up!
            5) flash ROM

Still a black screen though :'(

Edit: do I need to choose upgrade or another option once I get the blue box?

Edit2: Also tried with AndroidTool v1.37 and erased IDB and flashed new ROM but without luck...

You need to choose restore not upgrade.

I've tried the restore option on several (stock) ROMs without luck.

Tomorrow I will bury my K-R42, these have been 9 great months :/

Help blank screen on large tv only

have a bt351_bt, until recently all worked ok. then on my 50inch tv the box just displayed black screen. on my other tv 32inch all is fine. have tested further and seems above 42inch get black screen below everything works fine.

have flashed various roms, an now back to stock with same issue .screen total blank. TV's work fine with other electronics connected to same hdmi port and also tested on other large tv's board says it is b351_v1.1

                  anyone an ideas ???

                    muffed default setting?

i've noticed that flashing roms gives a blank screen when using hdmi however using the composite cable included with box shows that rom was successfully flashed. here's the kicker in the screen settings, default output is tv and not hdmi. trying to set hdmi won't stick

i'm thinking that there is something squirrelly with the script.bin and/or hdcp via hdmi and this is for all three roms listed below

                    rk3188_4.2.2_box_q7_v001_20140227
                    Q7_firmware_by_Vector_RC3
                    Q7_Firmware_By_lewy20041

things were fine till i started flashing roms

im an android noobie so catlog and terminal ain't thing but will give it a go if anyone has suggestions

also noticed something weird on mine end after flashing q7 it defaults to adb connection to pc never had that happen with minix
