    HDMI-CEC? Storage Speeds?

    Hi

I did look but could not find answers. A couple of pre-purchase questions as considering either Minix X7 or Amazon Fire TV. Primary use is for XBMC so will probably look at JustXBMC rom.

    1) Does Minix X7 support HDMI-CEC? Raspberry Pi does and its really useful to be able to use TV remote when using XBMC

    2) Is the storage slow? A lot of Chinese Android RK3188 devices use cheap Flash memory which can be slow. It can be seen when you have the Play Store updating LOTS of apps. The whole machine crawls. Yes, even with a quad core RK3188. Better devices use eMMC for storage which can be 2x speed. Anyone notice slow downs on this when mass updating apps?

    Thanks guys.

    1) AFAIK no
To use more than XBMC you'll probably even want to use a better remote (like an air mouse).
    2) Don't expect too much

    About XBMC:
XBMC for Android is still not hardware accelerated (Frodo) or in beta (Gotham). The custom version available here is Frodo with hardware acceleration. You might get good results after fiddling around long enough. But as you haven't bought the device yet and looking at the problems that other users report in this forum, my advice would be to get something else...

the built in EMMC is dead slow, i've wondered if it's exchangeable though, i have seen some nice stand alone emmc's being sold to retailers.
