If it's a Q7 like the two I bought, take it into the garden and set fire to it. They are useless for streaming online content in any version of XBMC. EVERY version of XBMC, Beyond and SPMC will suffer from choppy playback (micro frame skipping) even if it is in SD no matter if hardware acceleration is used or an external player like MX player. What's more, there is no custom ROM that works so you are stuck with the stock ROM. I wish I had never laid eyes on these boxes they have been a massive waste of my time and money.

ok, I just installed the k-r42 XBMC-only firmware on my CS918...now it didnt turn on!?
It only shows the red light...but didnt turn to blue(like it would do then it starts)

what can I do now?

Scratch your head and spend the next week on these forums looking for answers only to find, there are none. (If your box is a Q7 variant). You need to look on the Geekbuying forum to see which variant it is from the pics. Until then, you have no chance of getting it working.

Q: did your unit have bluetooth?
-unders Settings/bluetooth
--note: a real cs918 has no bluetooth

I think.. you have no choose to check your units motherboard

Thanks, I'll try it but I think I need a miracle to get these boxes working properly. I literally can't fault the stock firmware other than this one issue, I don't know why the manufacturers can't implement a fix into their firmware without people tearing their hair out with custom roms, kernels etc.

PS: I just installed Beyond XBMC Launcher version and it works good...BUT I cant add Superrepo!? so what could be the problem?


ALSO: how can I go to the setting of Android from this Launcher?

I read it but none of it makes sense to me as I'm not a software programmer. If it was a straightforward tool with instructions I might have had a chance.
