Hard Ware AND Windows Software Update!

Some of you who know me know that Im a late bloomer, and it wasnt until a few month's ago that i got bitten by what i like to call the "android flashing finless bug" well after flashing my first finless rom on my first NB7 there's been no looking back im a devout follower of Bob's Roms and his infinite wisdom. OOkay now recently Iv'e up graded first i went from the NB7 to the 10G2, now ive upgrade my PC and Laptop hardware (and more Ram and HDD space on both) along with the software, I was using XP3 sp3 and ive just switched to Windows 7, my question is OK i know first off is that i need to install driver's into all of Hardware but what im unsure of is this; Is there any difference in flashing roms on Windows7 than from WindowsXP3? Is there any thing that i need to be aware of, or to watch out for/keep in mind when i do my first flash in Windows7? Any help guy's ,as always ,would be greatly appreciated THANKS!

No everything will be the same so don't worry, just install the drivers like you have before. The tutorial that I did was done on Windows 7 32 bit so the screens you see on your Pc should be the same

Should be exactly the same, some people have struggled with getting the 64bit drivers to install so just give it a go. Just use a USB 2 port not a USB3 port.

I'm on Windows 7 64 bit and had no problem at all.
The only thing I did have to do was to stop Windows installing drivers automatically then I could install the Rockchip ones. I can't remember where I went in Windows to do this, which is helpful! I'll have a poke about and edit this post later!!
            /edit

            Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System
On the 'Hardware' tab, click ''Device installation settings'
On the next window choose 'No, let me choose what to do' and then pick 'Never install driver software from Windows Update'
Then you should be able to install the right drivers, then put the settings back to what they were.

            HTH
            Cheers

I have xubuntu on my netbook - thinking about trying Windows 8 in a VM, may give it a go at the weekend if the weather's as foul as it has been.
How are you finding the Metro interface?

It does not really work unless you use a touchscreen Pc, you can use a mouse, keyboard to navigate but just does not seem right. And had to install a start menu app as this is not in the os anymore. I just use it in desktop mode, so it is just like Windows 7 to be fair. It will be fantastic on a tablet!. Like windows phone, really good on the Nokia LumIa range of phones

I installed it in a VM and you can use win8 100% or swicth to the standard windows UI. You do not "have" to have a touch screen but that is in fact the desired experience for win8.

Personally touch screen are cool for a mobile device but I just dont think I will get use to using one that way from a "power user" point of view.

I could see you have a small touch screen say in the kitchen or somewhere for quick "mobile style" access to the internet, weather, etc. But not sitting there using a PC.

"Pzebacz im, bo nie wiedzą, co czynią"
"Прости им, они не ведают, что творят"
"Perdona loro perché non sanno quello che fanno"
"Vergib ihnen, denn sie wissen nicht, was sie tun"
"Vergeef hen want ze weten niet wat ze doen"
"Pardonne-leur car ils ne savent pas ce qu'ils font"
"Perdónalos porque no saben que lo que hacen"
"Oprosti im, jer ne znaju što čine"
"Forgive them as they know not what they do"
