USB2.0 LAN Adapter VK-RD9700 not working

    Hello,

I decided to buy a lan-adapter to improve my network speed on my android CX919-II stick. But I never actually thought about drivers for these LAN adapters. Thought it would be plug-and-play. Wrong guess

Now this lan-adapter isn't working on my android stick.

Could anyone help me out or does anyone know which driver I could use for the VK-RD9700 USB 2.0 adapter?

I'm using android 4.4.2 beta finless 2.0 on my device.

    Thanks in advance.

It's an uphill battle. If it does not work out of the box, I would return it in favor of something that does. I have no suggestions for this.

I got a usb wifi dongle, and I learned how to use ADB trying to make it work, and it still doesn't. I posted here for help and have had no success.

I found a few adapter drivers, but anytime I try to "insmod" them I get the message "wrong exec format". I guess my kernel is too new.

Does anyone happen to know a lan-adapter that is working out of the box without any trouble like I have now?

Re: USB2.0 LAN Adapter VK-RD9700 not working

I suggest any ASIX AX88772 chip based USB Ethernet device. I bought a uTechsmart unit and it works on everything I throw at it, android included. The AX88772 has far better real world performance and cross system compatibility than the RD9700. The 9700 boasts a usb 2.0 compatible system that is really capped at about 12mbps, or roughly the USB 1.0 speed throughput. I bought two different RD9700 based units that were quickly tossed them out when the uTech unit arrived.
        Hope that helps....
