    XBMC WIFI BUFFERING

Now I at my wit’s end with Minix neo x7.
I have the latest minix neo x7 with latest firmware purchased from an authorized reseller.
I have xbmc used specifically for minix purposes.
I am using wifi to connect to the network and when I go wifi, I can play youtube videos through the browser.
As soon as I play an app from xbmc which is linked to streams on the internet, it buffers at 0% and freezes then on.
When I use a raspberry pi with tp link wifi adapter, it plays flawlessly in the same network.
Odd thing is , it will play the video once or a twice in a while.
Then I went on to install android version of xbmc straight from the xbmc.org and faced the same issue too.
On reviewing google, I also updated my cachememory in advanced settings to 0 and 20mb to no avail.
Below are the links to when it played and when it didn’t play.
    When it played – http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=167348
    When it didn’t play – http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=167359

AFter all this, i flashed to justxbmc and same issuee !!!
    can any one help ?

Strange. It could be the ROM your using. I'd do a backup and flash another to test.

i have tried to upgrade to the latest beta and also the quickshot and justxbmc rom

it plays fine when connected via ethernet .... in terms of wifi, i have it lying right next to the router. i was intending to use in my bedroom but no luck with wifi...

Do NOT place a wifi device right next to a wifi router... that is a big no no... The signal will be overdriven and cause it to actually be slower. Place it a good 10-20 foot away so you still have a strong signal.

This is why I got cheap Ethernet power line adapters. I have so many idiots in my neighborhood who are using overlapping channels I have terrible performance. Oh also your power supply is cheaper than the MINIX one and may be putting out RF interference... Perhaps.

Sent from my Nexus7, apologies for any typos.

i can try that, although i dont get is that why does everything android works fine , just all xbmc is crap

for eg, if i copy the stream link to the browser in android it plays ok but in xbmc it shits itself.

No idea, mine is always consistent from android to xbmc.

Perhaps but saying that doesn't mean it's smart to place them together... what I said is still true despite what else you may have tried...

Don't place them close together, use a clear ( or the clearest ) channel, don't have other 2.4Ghz equipment too close by either... electric fan motors also can cause noisy interference... so keep some distance from them or other possible sources of interference

any inferences from xbmc logs that tell us wat could be causing it ?

No... wifi aka rf interference is not something the hardware or software is going to log... but just using a little common sense should allow you to figure out if something close by could cause interference. Such as the examples I already gave... Or say a concrete iron reinforced wall... or an air conditioner ( large electronic whatever ) between the router and device... it isn't hard to figure this type of stuff out if you think it through. I'm also not saying any of this is relevant in your case... but they are things to consider and all of them could cause trouble if present.

You can use some wifi utils to see what channel you are on and what others are using though... you can also see the signal strength.

i have steered clear of all the wifi channels in the range.. so that i doubt is the issue.

i will try take the unit to bedroom play from there again to see what is doing this to it..

                            i reckon a faulty unit.

I'd suspect a faulty unit only if you can't get a good strong signal... it's more likely the sources you are trying to stream from are not good, are too busy or your internet download speed is at fault ( usually the first ones are the cause since most people can test the other parts )
