New Rom official for Pipo M9pro

    Fresh rom from Pipo.
Please test and inform the forum is a 4.2.2 or a 4.4.2 Rom?

I will be downloading this when I get home tonight. After I cut the grass. After I figure out how to dump my rom in its current configuration, apps and all. I just installed the 0306 update! They keep coming!

This Rom is 4.2.2 JB & has only a little different UI and faster boot as described at Pipo official site.

Or should I say, cool Jelly Beans - thanks Randy...
People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do.

            Wishlist

I wish they would include a changelog in the updates.

I also wish they would correct the spelling of "Button" in the Multi-Window setting, and "Settings" in the Ethernet settings and put a space in "ScreenshotSettings."

That bothers me so much that I actually decompiled settings.apk to fix them but messed up something in the headers and couldn't make it work. Maybe they fixed them this go-round. Probably not.

Two hours later and that is downloaded direct from China. Four GB later and I cannot dump userdata.img. These updates are making me not want to mess with my tablet.

Why are you trying to dump userdata?

                I just use Titanium Backup.

Hey guys, to install the new rom over 2.4, do i have to wipe anything?

Also, i have the SD hack that kandilak gave us the steps to in the 2.4 thread, will any of that be affected by flashing this rom?

                  Thank you in advance.

I couldn't figure it out. I decided instead to dump the important parts of my current rom and then flash the update, then dump the important parts of that rom and flash them back with your 8gb parameter. It works.

As for backing up apps, I can use the computer at work to access the play store, so I keep wifi on the tablet and leave it at home and install apps over the computer while the tab is idle. The only downside is that I lose my settings on some apps. Since I have only had the M9Pro for about a month, that isn't much.

Fortunately, it looks like the serial on this stays the same from flash to flash, so the market recognizes it as the same device, unlike my mk808b which gets a new entry every time I flash it.

Same here. Easy to do a backup, but how to restore? You can't fault the help - there isn't any!

I've posted this many times before. Using Titanium is very easy.

It requires a rooted ROM, so you have to install the first time from scratch. After you have your tablet set up the way you want it with the rooted ROM, just intall Titanium. It's worth getting the key to unlock the batch features...otherwise, you have to restore each app one at a time.

Run Titanium with USB debugging turned on. Give it superuser permission.

It will create a backup folder on your internal SD. Copy that folder over to your external SD.

In Titanium under preferences, change the backup folder location to your external SD.

                        Titanium will exit and restart.

At the top right corner of titanium there are three icons. The middle one is a square. Touch it to show the batch options.

Select "Backup All Apps and System Data". Select all and press the green checkmark at the top right corner.

Now, you have a complete backup of everything on your external SD.

                        Flash the ROM of choice.

On first boot, set up wifi, and you Google account. Turn on USB debugging.

Install Titanium with the Key from Google Play Store.

                        Open Titanium.

Go to preferences and change the backup folder to the one on your external SD. If you push "locate" from entire device, Titanium will find it automatically.

Titanium will restart after you press the back button.

Open the Batch options from the square icon at the top right.

Scroll down and select "Restore Missing Apps with Data"

Uncheck everything and scroll down the list selecting only apps you need. Don't restore any system apps, because they may conflict with the ones in the new ROM (you won't get this anyway, because you are only installing apps which aren't already installed.

When you're done selecting all the apps you want, press the green checkmark at the top right corner.

Each of your apps, with the associated data from your previous installation will be restored and the apps will appear in your app drawer.

It only takes me about 5 minutes to get a tablet back to normal after a flash...and I've done it hundreds of times.

                        Enjoy!!!!!!!!
