    wake on lan , cant get into sleep mode?

    hey guys,
    i got my mk808 a few days ago and flashed it with the new finless 2.1. Also I am using beyond xbmc and everything just works perfect.

    But one thing a cannot get to work is wake on lan. first of all i cant find a way to put my device into sleep mode? with finless 2.1 i just can power it down (or is that the sleep mode?)

    It would be lovely to wake my device up by using yatse. Can anybody help? I am kind of frustrated by now.

    thx guys!

    Wake on lan is a PC feature, i don't think you can use it on Android. I don't know about Finless 2.1, but some roms have sleep mode, but i think the only thing sleep mode does is to turn off the HDMI output, so there is no real "deep sleep" like on mobile devices (but i am really not sure about that).

    PS: You can usually enter sleep mode by shortly pressing the power button. If you don't have a physical power button on your keyboard, you can try the app Button Savior" for a software power button.

            It can be done, the only bug left is that the Wifi drops and doesn't re-initiate upon wake. A simple toggle of airplane mode reactivates the connection. Deep sleep does exist, though.

                Can you get cron working and when wake from sleep reset the the interface?

                  Cool! Have you checked the power consumption on deep sleep compared to idle? Would be interesting if it is worth it.

                    I don't have the equipment to do that test so all I rely on is kernel messages and the usual 'touch it and see if it got cold' overnight ( and it does.)

                    Dmesg always shows everything going into proper deep sleep, but there's one major problem that I let slide ... for some reason fixing deep sleep would keep my device DDR from running stable on anything higher than 600mhz. It would freeze on the spot as soon as I hit the power button or upon waking, without fail if anything over 600mhz is utilized. So a few months ago I had to sacrifice on that to keep deep sleep but other than that it's fine.

                    I'm not sure if any scripting will cure the Wifi disconnecting during sleep. I tried many many options, and the closest result kept it attached to the network but the connection was still dormant. Nothing in dmesg helped me solve the issue so I just deal with toggling airplane mode once upon every wake.

                      #!/system/bin/sh

                      (while [ 1 ]
                      do
                      AWAKE=`cat /sys/power/wait_for_fb_wake`
                      if [ $AWAKE = "awake" ]; then
                      settings put global airplane_mode_on 1
                      am broadcast -a android.intent.action.AIRPLANE_MODE --ez state true
                      sleep 5s
                      settings put global airplane_mode_on 0
                      am broadcast -a android.intent.action.AIRPLANE_MODE --ez state false
                      AWAKE=
                      fi
                      SLEEPING=`cat /sys/power/wait_for_fb_sleep`
                      if [ $SLEEPING = "sleeping" ]; then
                      sleep 5s
                      SLEEPING=
                      fi
                      done &)

                      Put this script in your init.d and it cycles airplane mode on wake.
