Your subtitle errors are the least relevant errors listed in your logs to video problems. Having root isn't the issue. The main error I saw was the inability to find a sytem (lib) file which was probably when you had your hw codecs off. You also keep getting peripheral errors for some reason. As far as video shuttering many people have fixed this by turning there resample audio quality down. .

Now to get back to the main issue with playback. This is not a ROM/kernel issue. This is strictly a XBMC alpha compatibility issue with our system. Im sure Oman and other devs are working out the kinks. The s802 is a relatively new chip. XBMC devs for amlogic based chipsets are notorious for fixing kinks. Amcodec support will get better (just like older amlogic amlcodec support). If anyone would like to tinker around with guisettings.xml your answer might be in the text within that file. You can also make a advancedsettings.xml to overide guisettings.xml with options like resolution, max and min framerate, refresh rate, how many frames to drop under certain conditions, etc. After editing this you must completely close xbmc and start it back up to take effect. Make a backup of your old .xml just in case or you might have to reinstall xbmc.

Once devs start getting the compatibility kinks worked out and stable, it will eventually be pushed into the main source code for xbmc. As of right now gotham doesnt support 4k. Oman and Stanislav came out with a decently stable helix build here http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?12919-xbmc-which-can-Play-4k-rmvb-h265-video-on-amlogic-s802-platform

P.S. Im at work and havent really looked into newer builds after frodo. So make sure XBMC still allows this with gotham and helix. you can read about this here http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title...edsettings.xml

        Thanks for your help.
I noticed this error "Unable to load libcec.so, reason: (null)" as well.

I have now the third xbmc version on the box, I always completely deleted all files when de-installing the app, however, I still have this error which I had since staring xbmc on the box the first time.

I also assumed that the subtitle errors really aren´t critical....

I had xbmc 13 stable and 13 RC1 on the box before I installed this alpha version which was recommended to me by others in this thread. However, the problems with playback (when enabling libstagefright only) were there in all 3 versions

I would love to, but my knowledge (I am pretty new to xbmc) is very limited :-)

        Thanks again

once again I'm out of the circle as far a newer builds of xbmc, but I do know that older builds including gotham won't support 4k. They most likely pushed amcodec into gothams newest beta. Also I know when mediacodec for kitkat was introduced libstagefright should have not been enabled. However oman told me in his thread that certain hw accel calls upon specific codecs (amcodec, libstagefright, and mediacodec) now. This must be a system independent dependancy brought on by gotham and helix. Looking in system libs I find many variations of libstagfright now (on kitkat). Sorry but I'm tired and can't help further. Keep tweaking and looking at the errors (minus subtitle errors). Maybe I'll get familiar with the latest builds or someone more familiar will be able to suggest a better solution...

this might be a better thread at forums.xbmc.org. More devs are working on speciific platforms for XBMC compatability rather than rom/kernel compatability

I try to describe my setup.

First: my TV is a Samsung F6500 55"
My AVR is a Onkyo SR 706
The Tronsmart is connected viy HDMI to the Onkyo and the Onkyo via HDMI to the TV.

When I got the Tronsmart, the 104k4 stock rom was on it.
I flashed the Finless rom 1.6 on it.

Not sure anymore wether or not xbmc came with the rom or I installed it myself...anyway, I am currently running xbmc 13.0 Git:20140505-f42f5b5 (Compiled May 5 2014).

Here are some screenshots of my device

              and some of xbmc

Now the screen with the accelration the way the videos play

as soon as I changed to "only select libstagefright" like this

...the box crashes and reboots (animated amlogic screen on boot).

I also somewhere read that there is a special xbmc version from either finless bob or geekbuying for the Tronsmart.
Should I better install this one? Can someone provide me with a link, can´t find it right now...

              Thanks
              Mark
Got the exact same problem. Almost got the exact same setup too. Es8000 and onkyo tx nr 414 , s89-h 1.6 finless and getting stutter every 10-15 secs on mx player, 4k player and xbmc and crashes alot when only libstagefright is selected but has played a couple of mkvs without stutter when it doesnt crash but really hope amcodec gets sorted. Do u think it maybe fixed in the next update 105k4?
