Android boxes not working on certain TV's
I have 2x Q7 boxes, an MK908ii and a K-R42. In my house they work on all our tv's perfectly (2x LG's and a Samsung) but if I take any of them to my mum's, they don't work on her LG or her Panasonic. The HDMI ports are not recognising the boxes at all. Similarly, if I take any of them over to my father in laws they work on his Samsung but are not found on his Panasonic. I have tried all the ports and still nothing. The HDMI ports are ok as they work fine with the Sky box. Does anyone know why this is or have you had the same problem? They wanted me to order them one but as I can't get them working on certain tv's, it's pointless buying them.Tags: None

Originally posted by Pupenhausen View PostThanks, but being an electronics service engineer, I already tried that but didn't need to as my upstairs is 1080p but my downstairs is only 720p and has no problems. I found out it was to do with the HDCP handshake problem. I turned the power off to everything at the wall and powered it back up and it worked.

I have the same issue with the Q7, works fine on my 2 tv´s but round my friends house his 2 tv´s & a hdmi monitor report no signal, all 3 displays are HD, the TV´s are LG, hdmi output worked on the stock rom but after installing Q7 Firmware By lewy20041 it now only works with some tv´s. I´m wondering if you have discovered anything new since your last post, as off right now the box will only work with my friends tv´s using AV output.

I´ve tyed veclinux´s rom, its not the new one though, after flashing I can´t get mine to boot past the penguines, just hangs right after with a blanck screen, tryed 3 times to flash but gets stuck on boot.
Ivé tryed these 5 roms thus far :
VECLINUX_Q7-firmware-update-xbmc
Will not boot past the penguines
Q7_1220_update(1) (Stock)
HDMI works
HD playback, has micro stutter
rk3188_4.2.2_box_q7_v001_20140227 (Stock)
HDMI does not work, screen flicker is present
Q7_Firmware_By_lewy20041
HDMI does not work, screen flicker is present
HD playback is excellent
rk3188_4.4.2_box_q7_v001_beta_20140409
HDMI does not work, screen flicker is present
My mistake the veclunix rom works for me after all, I was getting screen flicker also using some roms.i.e screen would go black briefly and then back on again (as if the res had been changed) vevlinux rom works ok as does the stock but any others give me the screen flicker, I´m going to stick with veclinux for the time being.Last edited by mfuk; 20 May 2014, 19:24.

The stock firmware is garbage and the veclinux rom is the only one that works. As a result I gave away my Mk908ii which works on everything and my K-R42 which also works on every TV, and kept the lousy Q7's to myself!
The other one works fine on all my TV's.
Both work fine over HDMI into my dell monitor.
I've tried the stock rom and lewis rom, same issue. A/V out works fine, but it's crappy quality. Going to try the new veclinux rom next to see what that does. Have you had any luck sorting out the problem?
