Geekbuying K-R42 has T-R42 board with no bluetooth hardware????

I recently bought a K-R42 from geekbuying and wanted to try different firmwares to fix the micro frame skipping issue. None of Lewy's or wassers have been able to boot once flashed. The box says it is a K-R42 underneath on the sticker but when I opened it up the board says B351 v2.0 which I have only seen in T-R42 threads which has bluetooth. I now have a paperweight as it isn't a T-R42 and it doesnt have the 2nd aerial connection on the board for the bluetooth module, but has the same board revision. I can't find the stock firmware to get it working again or a custom rom. Can anyone help me get this working again?

There are a bunch of stock roms for these devices at this chinese site:

I would try one of the hdmi ones with no bluetooth in the description. Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

Thanks guys. I found a thread were somebody had the same box as me. They flashed lewys T-R42 rom for 2.0 boards and had success. I tried it too and everything works fine even though it's for the bluetooth version.

          Same story here

          Hi,

I just got one K-R42 from geekbuying. It has B351-V2.0 hardware minus bluetooth. In the process of purchasing I was asked from them if I want the "upgrade" to T-R42 instead. To which I asked them just to refund the money. Instead they sent me castrated (no bluetooth) T-R42 with K-R42 sticker. I read many good reviews of them on this forum. However they seem to turn into just another bait-and-switch chinese shop.

The Q7 is the worst of the bunch so be thankful you didn't get one of them, or two like I did! Bizarrely with the veclinux rom they work fine on all 3 tvs in my house but don't work at all on my brothers or my father in laws Panasonic and it has a red screen which has moved one third across the screen on my mum's LG. It's not the settings either, my tvs are a mixture of 720p and 1080p native and I have tried different settings on their tvs by using the AV cable then switching back to hdmi once I have changed the display settings on the box, and still get no signal. My K-R42 works on all tvs with the lewy T-R42 v2.0 rom and video is very smooth. I haven't encountered any problems yet so I suggest using that one.

Actually this fake T-R42 has Q7's WIFI module. So it is neither T-R42 not Q7. This just pisses me off.

geekbuying needs to start reviewing the hardware they sell and making sure that there vendors aren't outright liers the Chinese practice of haggling and exchanging a item for another one of close match or a nearly identical clone may be tolerated in china but the rest of the world doesn't something these over seas vendors need to be made to understand -
if I order a K-R42 i expect to get a K-R42 made BY Kingnovel in a kingnovel operated or contracted factory NOT whatever factory you can source a device from
when you buy a TV box BUY A original design either buy minix neo x7 or a Rikomagic device you buy these cheap 80.00 clones of clones you get what you pay for also buy direct from minix/rikomagic when you can or at least go though amazon's store

                  current devices(rockchip sucks)
