    PTAB7XC the same as PMID701C?

I'm new here, I just got my first tablet and it's awesome! I've had my modded iphone for awhile and I'm a computer tech, just looking to enjoy a great tablet site!!

All of the big lot's around here were sold out, I found a PTAB7XC at Kohls for 99$ It seems to have all of the same specs as the big lot's tablet, but this one doesn't have tv out but has the front facing camera.

    It has ICS
    4.0.3
    V1.1.3_20120327
    kernal: 3.0.8+

    nuclear_mt7000-eng 4.0.3 IML74K 20120327 test-keys

I did the google marketplace install from the "OFFICIAL PMID701C thread" here and it worked fine. So I'm assuming they're both the same software/firmware that things you would do to the PMID701C is also compatible with my PTAB7XC (as I can't find any info when searching online really) I'm looking for something else to do to my tablet to mod it now...

The steps I did that worked fine
I first installed "OneTimeInitializer-signed.apk" successfully, then attempted to install "GoogleServicesFramework-signed.apk" but the installation failed for some reason. I moved on to "SetupWizard.apk", which was successful, and finally "vending-3.1.3-signed.apk", which also was successful.

This gives me a fully working version of the Android Market (only the Icon is the old Icon, launching actually shows the Google Play interface)

    Hello!

Welcome to the FreakTab community of users. Over the years, I've been on a lot of support sites, but to me, the environment that Finless and the rest of the community here have created seems uniquely special.

    With THAT said...

The 701c ran Gingerbread out of the box and did not have a camera, so it would seem to be more like the 702c/703c, which DO have cameras.

I'll go on to speculate that with the exception of the camera, the motherboards are probably also practically identical...

First, welcome. I would agree with N4RPS that your tablet (7XC) is more like the 702C/703C series. If you look at your user manual you could see that it represents all three models (702C, 703C, & 7XC).

I wonder why there are three different models of what appears to be the same tablet.

Could it be that they are produced by three different manufacturers with slight modifications or with different components?

Could it also be that the tablets are really all the same but with different model numbers and SKUs for specific retail outlets?

Does your tablet's g sensor (tilt) work with the game Temple Run? The 702C g sensors do not work with the game.

I was looking at the 2 manual/mini books that came with the tablet later that day that I got the tablet, but I was looking at them in a dark room as I didn't feel like turning on the light, lol. It didn't have much info as I'd already figured out the tablet well anyhow..

I will try the game temple run and see, the tilt and all DOES work with super monkey ball HD. If anybody needs any info or for me to try anything on my tablet since it does have a different model #, I will be happy to help. I've only seen 1 other person post about the same model as mine, and he posted the same day as I did lol.

Okay, Saldy... I tried temple run and everything works until you need to tilt the tablet to move, and it doesn't work

It works on supermonkey ball HD tho, wonder what the difference is besides the way the game is programmed.. I changed a setting under the settings on the tablet for special and it still didn't work

I just found out about another game that's like Temple Run, but it doesn't require the tilt, just swiping I believe. It's called "subway surfers" I believe it's free also! =)

Thanks, will try the other game. Looks like the 702C and 703C might use the same g sensors or might have the same inards.
