Miracle ROM for X7 by Cloudproject

Default kernel only 720p

According at least my own testdrive the default kernel of the Cloudproject Miracle KK ROM (post #1) is only 720p. Has somebody successfully tried a true 1080p kernel (which one)?

the author provided two kernels separately and i tried the 1080p and it works just fine! I did not try xmbc though! You can see my screenshots above are in 1080p resolution.

At original thread at minixforums.com at the moment only 720p kernel is discussed and he collect all the bugs and will release after a wile new kernels incl. 1080p so I don't think the other kernels are the best choice at the moment...

1. some apps always force closed, even the es explorer. ...

2. WARNING: When I tried to flash back the Official Minix Firmware it gives me an error, and when i tried to connect via recovery again the device keeps on disconnecting from my pc and makes your device unrecoverable unless you have enough sources and patience. Luckily I sort things out after so many attempts of flashing.

1. That' also discussed at original thread at minixforums.com and depends on the build.prop ...

2. Maybe it will helpful for others if you would like to explains ho do you do it...

BTW: The secret of this rom is to be as close as possible to Android AOSP

i wouldnt touch it with 10 foot pole too many other good roms out there, for how he treated devs here why would anyone post it here anyways, buggy from the sounds of it anyways,

I don't get it what you want to say... Why do you post in a thread that you are not interested. Maybe it was something in the past that all we should let go. And regards of this rom is pretty good and represent something else another alternative. More roms is in our benefit. Is not my intention to start an argue and this is will be the only post about this subject. I believe that you me and other end user want to have the best rom on our devices. Thank you for understanding.

Couldn' t agree more with the above. For some reason people seem to be obsessed that any other KitKat ROM for X7 not released by wasser must be engineered by strauzo. I thought that the strauzo case was considered to be closed. For me the ultimate point is to make my X7 work as fluently as possible - that is all that matters. Let us just bury the hatchet and enjoy all the developed or ported goodies for X7.

To set the record straight. Genny is Strauzo. Genny came here and started off in a bad way. He did not get banned or anything but decided to hide and made a new handle called Strauzo. We did not catch this duplicate name until after he went nuts and deleted ROMs from our FTP in a childish way to get revenge for being an ass. He will never be welcome here again!

Same person trust me! It's the Droidmote guy (A.K.A Genny & Strauzo). And yes this ROM is from him.

I'm new here and I knew nothing about the above described facts ,so I tried out the Miracle rom. (yesterday evening)

This are my conclusions, but keep in mind that I'm no android or computer whizz, just a end user that wants a smooth every day firmware.

The rom is very FAST. Even the ethernet speeds are very high (speedtest). Playback of 1080 files from external media in XBMC Gotham RC1 was very good. Developer menu doesn't show by default in settings. You have to do the multiple click trick on the build no. in the about device pane.

Kernel is 720.

Minix A2 air mouse's buttons kind of work in apps, but don't in the android home screen. There is a fix for this using a key mapper app., but it's too complicated for me.

Blue power led doesn't work. Apparently there is another kernel that can fix this and must be flashed separately.

The biggest problem, for me ,was that fusion addons XBMC Gotham RC1 didn't work. They installed nicely, but all the video add-ons where "incompatible". The same add-ons worked in Gotham on a custom 4.2 firmware(Lewy's Just XBMC).

Going back from this 4.4 firmware to custom 4.2 firmware was a bit tricky. I used the reset and power buttons pressed through all the flashing duration method that was described on the forum. (I had the same problem going back to 4.2 from Wasser's 4.4)

I flash all firmware in a virtual Win7 x32 machine, so maybe I did something wrong.

Bottom line: I loved the speed, and the clean android interface, but this is not yet a firmware I could use on daily basis, so back to Lewy's Just XBMC firmware with Gotham and just xbmc working in parallel.
