Wifi Problem

Just purchased the X7, Everything has been working pretty good minus the Wifi. I have tried a few roms and currently using Quickshot.

Wifi works great and then it won't connect at all just tries to authenticate and cycles through the connecting. When I forget my network the connection is excellent and when I try to connect again it says its poor.

I have tried some other roms and it does the exact same thing.

I have searched the forums and there is no real good answer other than reflash the rom.

Any other solutions or is my router just to old even though it works with every other device in the house?

*** Update: I can install finless stock rom and wifi works perfect every time. How do I get this with a custom rom?

Try to change the WiFi Channel on your router and X7.
There's some app telling you which channel is less used near your device.

Thanks for the information. I changed my router to the best channel available. It did not help. I don't get this.

Some brands of components just don't work together despite their quality of each... but assuming it isn't that ( which is certainly one of many possibilities )


Don't place the device too close or too far away from the router. Too close and the signal gets distorted and too far away it is weak.

If you are using a 2.4Ghz wireless kb/mouse... make certain that it has a bit of distance ( by using a USB extension cable ) from the WiFi antenna.

Other 2.4Ghz devices that are too close can also affect/interfere with your signal... like a cordless telephone, wireless camera's and many other devices.

Other electronics set to close can cause interference in some cases, most notable being an electric fan as one example.

There are many other things that can also block wireless signals just like other radio signals... Really, it isn't hard to get but it may take a little thought to determine if it is some type of signal being blocked or interfered with.
