Rooted devices from Manufacturers

Before I bought my CS968 I tried out 3 other boxes that said their where rooted, it seems that they have access to certain parts of the systemfiles but not other parts, and you can do backup etc. but you can´t access root with R/W rights. So I don´t think the manufacturers release a product with full root, they have their own definition of what it means. I had to root my CS968 with kingoroot after I applied the ROM that Pincer posted. Maybe I am out on deep water here but that is my reflection and experience.

Hi, I successfull install this firmware, but I can't mount SD card. After mounting it immediately unmounted.

in my opinion, root give you not just access to system file, but also enable you too modify/ edit.
Super SU from chainedd need root access to install its binary file, if failed to install the binary, well, in my opinion, it's not yet fully rooted. Root checker need to be updated, IMHO.

I am very happy with this rom. I have tried to push the SuperSU.apk but it still does not work. However the rom does give you basic root privileges and I have been able to set it to full 1080 HD using Tech's suggestion from command line:

su ↵
wm size 1920x1080 ↵
wm density 240 ↵
Reboot your Android TV box ...!

Many thanks servo386 for uploading it. It took only 8 mins to download wherever the OP link was now working for me but the download eta was over 5 hrs. I flashed it to my MK809iii with MTK chips. It seems to be working fine apart from BT and WIFI.
