Really awesome app for using and managing your tablet!

I found an awesome free app on the google marketplace, it's called Airdroid. You can connect to your tablet wirelessly, add and remove things, install apk files, it's a really awesome app! You should really check it out, even if you don't need this type of software, you might start using it or find a use! You can easily copy/install things from your PC to the tablet wirelessly without having to go get your USB cable or even get up from the PC if you're tablet is with you. lol

I love my apple products, err my iphone 3g but for the price of this Android tablet, I LOVE it!!

---We should have a post/sticky where everybody can post useful apps with the name and a short description, it would help many members find new apps that might serve a purpose that they really need, or didn't know they even needed!!

(maybe this thread could be a start and others can reply with other great handy apps!!)

    =)

Sounds like a great idea! I like the idea of giving a summary so people can have an idea if/how to use it for them and their tablet. I am always for expanding this awesome community in any helpful way possible. I have really benefited from everyone's willingness to help everyone from pros to novices.

I have this app on all my Androids now thanks a lot for posting this! Also, I'll try and contribute a bit myself with a few games I like to play.

            Angry Birds Space

            Fruit Slice
            - Fruit Ninja doesn't work so this is a good alternative

Cut the Rope/ Cut the Rope Experiments

            Drag Racing

            Gameboid -
            Gameboy Advance Emulator

All these games work wonderfully on my PMID702C.

            Some apps I use
Poweramp - Music player with an equalizer

System Tuner - Has an auto app killer. Works wonders on my tablets performance.

Button Savior - Puts a little icon on the side of your tablet for home button and back button.. Works great if no physical or software home button works.

                apps I like

                DeJa office
app is free, pc link software is not but you don't need it.
                address book! Calendar tasks memos
if your running a business you could send out the contact info and tasks to your sales reps or techs.
click on a name in address book to email or street address for maps and directions.
Input birthdays and anniversaries with reminders.

                Perfect Keyboard
                Cursor arrows!

                File Expert
I use it to auto backup all apps to real sd card at install. If you run a program it will create data folders and caches making it harder to backup and reinstall without wifi.
                also has wifi network access.vpn,adhoc,etc.
You could have a huge amount of games for kids to play on a road trip on the sd card.

                Guitar Tap
if you're a musician you can download lyrics and tablature, make a mike stand mount, instant teleprompt!
Run a line from headphone jack to mixer to play mp3s between sets.

                Stand alone crosswords
app is 10$ but large amount of old games to download free. No ny times sunday without subscription tho.

                Itv
tv guide I set up for over the air channels, doesn't save database locally for offline use, still looking for one that will.

Awesome thread, thanks everyone for contributing, it helps me cut through the clutter to get at what I want to check out.

3 questions: Are there any apps/files that I can/should delete that is essentially bloatware or pretty much useless that you guys would recommend? Regarding Opera Mobile browser...if I download this, does it mean that once I download and install I should get rid of the browser currently on the tablet or keep both?
Last question...System tuner & Free Advance Task Manager, do these take the place of current programs on tablet or should be additions? I am always looking to increase performance and have useful tools but just wondering.

To Add one, if you have kids, nieces, nephews, or just enjoy fun little games that increase with difficulty

Where's My Water - Its by Disney (don't let that scare you off) and there is a free/paid version and it is a fun game that young people or those young at heart will enjoy.

EDIT Added: Cut The Rope - Its another fun little game for little ones or those young at heart. It does increase in difficulty and is pretty fun in my opinion as a time passing game.

I'm using dolphin browser _I had the choice to make it the default but I get a popup box to choose browsers when I search.
a lot of websites were telling me I didn't have permission to access with the stock browser.

I'm still rocking the gingerbread pmid701c and I find a task killer essential to speed up the unit. There's a script from
Artistlogic v6 supercharger that might help ,I believe it reorders the memory management but Ive been too paranoid and or lazy to try it.

I've tried to remove some of the "bloatware" But it won't let me just uninstall it, there may be a way to force delete it by going thru file managers, but I haven't serached as I don't really care too much about it right now.

You can't delete the browser that's already on there, as I tried lol. As I said earlier, you may be able to remove it otherways but I haven't tried. All of the file managers and things are mostly additions as the other things you can't remove, but both and others might have pros/cons over each other.

Opera Mobile browser is the only one that I found that flash worked with and was mostly "noob" friendly. I'm far from a noob with anything tech related, been in the field for 17 years. But the Opera Mobile Browser is the best of any I tried, I tried about 5 total and either the flash wouldn't work, or they didn't perform as well. Make sure if you try opera, do NOT get the mini version, get the mobile verison. Also with the Opera browser, if you go into the advanced settings you can change it from user agent: tablet or desktop, I put mine on desktop as the webpages load as if I were on a desktop computer. Otherwise on tablet setting, it condenses the pages down and they're almost harder to find the info you want, as I'm used to viewing all my sites on my laptop, so they look exactly the same (unlike many other browsers I tried didn't load pages as well)

If you don't mind buying apps :

                        * appxoid (this one is free but it is really useful if you want to buy) : everyday, they show a few free apps and some buyable ones with a discount (usually half or less the usual price)

                        * tapatalk : if you use your phone or tablet a lot to browse forums like xda or freaktab, and a lot more : it is a must. I tried every free alternative I found, but on this one, it's worth the money I spent. Note : they also sell themes at the same price as the app : personally I think it's not worth it.

                        * Titanium backup Pro : The first I bought on android : worth it : you can restore all your apps without clicking "yes" for each one. I don't know the other differences, as I didn't have the free version for long.

                        Free apps :

                        * appxoid, as it can help you discover free apps too

                        * ES File explorer ( I tried a lot of file explorers, and I still like this one better)

                        * Flipboard : a classy and enjoyable way of reading news.

                        * Titanium backup : even the free version is usefull.

                        * Link2sd : mainly used to put apps on a second partition of your sdcard. Even if you don't partition your sdcard, it can be really usefull to manage apps (remove, move from sd to internal in the gingerbread style) AND, most IMPORTANT : move user apps to ROM, as system apps, and the other way. That is to say, it you have an app installed on your sdcard, you can move it into your NAND memory, with the android system, saving space on your sdcard.

                        * Challenger Comics Viewer : in my opinion the best comics viewer that presents comics like a long up-down or left-right band that you can scroll to read the whole comic. Really, try it.

That is my first selection. There are many other. But for games, there is a dedicated space here : http://www.freaktab.com/forumdisplay.php?91-Gamers-Corner

System App Remover- for rooted systems (just be careful what you remove/ either back it up or you'll have to reflash)

Just an update, the P G Quotes did work and I was able to find it after I powered down and powered back up. I did not think to do that, but then I found the widget and then moved it to my main screen and works like a charm.

Just so I understand, as far as we know right now, if we have not rooted our tablet, there is no way that we know of to remove some of the programs we don't want and/or browsers, etc. if it does not give us the option to uninstall just to stop/force stop correct? Its always surprising when you can say "There is NOT an app for that!"
