    help with MK808b

    Hi,

I ordered a couple of these last week from the same supplier. I decided to flash with the Finless 1.7 mk808b rom.

This first one went well, booted into flash mode ok, although I had to use the hold button down while powering up method, Like the instructions said, when I entered flash mode the power led remained off. Erased nand and flashed rom with no issues. Worked a treat and I'm very pleased with it.

Unfortunately my assumption that the second one would be even easier as I'd already done one proved to be wrong.

I tried to enter flash mode but the led stayed on no matter what I did. It did however stay at the blank screen so I proceeded to erase the nand. This seemed to complete fine, but when I then went onto flash the rom, it seemed to go a lot faster than the previous one and resulted in a download IDB error?

I did a bit of research and after opening the 2 boxes up it appears the insides are different. The bricked box has a heatsink and has a couple of mediatec chips. Is this the V1 clone.

So guys, I need a bit of help unbricking this box. Is it definitely going into flash mode, even though the led stays on contrary to Finless's instructions?

I've been trying to upload pictures all morning but I can't get it to work. Pics upload into the first window but it won't let me drag and drop.

I did manage to short out the pins on the nand and now it does look like it's working but there is no video output when I reboot it.
