I don't think you will see if you have to pay tax, you have to know if or if not...
If I order at geekbuying.com and I use DHL it is a higher risk that I have to pay tax instead of using slow china air mail (last time my order from China go through customs without tax )

Hehe.. Yea. I bought 4 devices via DHL and my vendor put $40 on invoice. Paid no tax and no vat. I did not even ask for it. Saved me about $75!

The 16gb model also have dual band 2.4/5ghz wifi which matters for some...
My feeling is that 8gb is more than enough if you use as media player. If you going to use it for games as well you might want to go for 16gb model

if you have a LOT of TV and movies on NAS, then maybe you will need 16GB model to store movie posters, fan art, covers, actor information and all other XBMC metadata

unless the XBMC library data can be moved / stored on SD card?

as I just posted on another forum:

ok, new stuff – from the 17/05/2014 M8 firmware on the Beelink page:
                            http://www.bee-link.com/en/article.php?id=130
                            - seems there is a file manager built into the home screen now (when you run the media launcher)
                            - I could successfully pair my bluetooth headphones to the device, but still no luck (not a lot of time spent) using SIXAXIS to pair my PS3 joypad.
                            - XBMC Gotham installed by default, playback from a local USB HDD was smooth for 1080p MKV with DTS audio.
                            - could successfully install and run Google Play paid apps. (Sonic Racing Transformed gets to the login screen, but no further. Zen Pinball HD ran perfectly and was a nice distraction for 5-10 minutes).
                            - Antutu Benchmark stalled at the RAM test – UNTIL I removed the top cover of the media player and fanned it with a bit of paper.. then it passed successfully with a final score of 31812 (faster than a Samsung Galaxy S4).
                            breakdown scores were:
                            Multitask 5739
                            Runtime 2014
                            RAM operations 3003
                            RAM speed 1543
                            CPU integer 3827
                            CPU floating point 2864
                            2D (1080x1920) 1649
                            3D (1080x1920) 8555
                            Storage I/O 1983
                            Database I/O 635

                            - I did notice that the power light still flashed occasionally when the device was in standby mode.
                            - also holding the power button on the remote control for 10 seconds no longer switches the media player totally off.

Is your PS3 gamepad genuine? Are you using sixaxis app?
