Looking for help with a bootable backup and restore from SD for CS918 & CS968

Im sure its the TR42 model for the CS918 and its the 5mp cam for the CS968

Willing to pay for work done on this and if required send both models to the developer working on them.

I am looking for some more assistance with a few other things I have in mind, can discuss this with you afterwards.

    Hope someone can help.

    Thanks a lot.

Device is only able to boot at NAND.
Minimum need at NAND is bootloader and linux-kernel including the 'initial ram filesystem' (minimal filesystem). Than you are able to "boot" a Linux RFS (root file system), e.g. Ubuntu, from SD card.
No chance (I don't know any solution) to boot with Android from SD...

Update from SD (to NAND) is possible, but you have also first to boot from NAND...

      Thanks for your reply.

I understood some of what you were saying (sorry new to this)

What I was looking for was something similar that deamonium did with the G18ref models, like the mx2/mx where you could boot straight into CWM and either restore or backup straight onto a new device with stock ROM/Recovery.

      Did you see that before?

      Thanks again.
Yea, but Amlogic isn't Rockchip, that's the problem...
I'm not sure what 'deamonium' done, but if I remember correct, he build up an SD to boot directly to CWM-Recovery (ClockWorkMod) which exist at SD... also the unbrick solution from BenniBenassi do the same way...

      (and

The 'secret' at Amlogic devices is a special generated SD which includes the boodloader at a special way (in front of the 'normal' dos section):

I don't know any guy who try to do something like this at rockchip...
