    Reading Kindle Books on PMID702C?

I discovered the website freekindlebooks.org that offers free eBooks for each of the classic authors. Presumably, the books are public domain so it is all legit.

I installed the FB Reader app (over the 702c's wi-fi). Here is what I noticed:
    - Book opens perfectly when first downloaded, using FB Reader as the program to open the file
    - Upon selecting the book in the "Downloads" folder, the same book cannot be opened

There are two purchased eBooks on the 702c, which open without errors. They both appear in the library area as well. However, the over-the-air books from freekindlebooks do not show up there.

Here are some questions that I hope the forum members can answer:
    1) Do the freekindlebooks files need moved to another folder (as they are .MOBI format)?
    2) Is there a way to default eBooks to open only with FB Reader?
    3) Is it possible to increase the font size on FB Reader (as it is smaller size than the Kindle app)?
    4) Can Kindle for Android be uninstalled, so that FB Reader is the reading app of preference?

    Thanks for any help!

I'm not answering any of your questions, but I just wanted to say incase it matters to you or anybody else for future reference. On my PC I prefer .pdf files for reading and all, and sometimes I've run into .mobi and other formats that I don't prefer.

If you're the same and prefer .pdf over other formats, this website is great for converting those files on the spot and online and offers a download of the .pdf (other formats are available to convert to also)

You may want to choose another ereader to read the kindle format books since I think FBreader only partially supports it. You may want to try Cool Reader since it supports many formats including mobi.

With ereader apps, you would populate your bookshelf (library) by telling the app to search for you ebooks or by identifying the location of you ebooks then just choose the book to read from your shelf so you don't have to open a file manager and find your ebook.

      Hope this helps ya.

        Thanks for the posts!
        @ diabls :
That sounds great if transferring from PC to tablet, but I would like something that reads eBooks from the website above -- clicked and downloaded right on the tablet.

        @ ntab :
Cool Reader sounds like it may work. Once it is set to open the files in a certain folder, does it always find the files or will I still need to search for the files/eBooks every time the app loads?

Better yet, is there a way to drag-n-drop the downloaded eBooks to the bookshelf (that is, is the bookshelf user-changeable or is the bookshelf default setting "read only")? What about the ability to set downloads to save (and appear) directly on the bookshelf?

Some of the other ereaders that I like are Aldiko (free version) and Moon+ Reader (free version). If you don't have Google Play, you can get them via GetJar. Since we all have different preferences and requirements, the best thing to do is install an ereader app and try it and play around with its features.

So for me, I use Aldiko (casual reading) and Cool Reader (to read other formats).

Currently, with Cool Reader and Aldiko I am having a problem of downloading from Project Gutenberg using OPDS within the apps, so I basically just download stuff to my tablet from gutenberg via the browser and then move the file into my ebook directory. I hope they fix it soon. If you want to know what OPDS is go to this link http://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/OPDS.

I just tried Moon+ Reader and it has a wider selection of catalogs that is included. OPDS for Project Gutenberg works.
