Help me choose a device with some restrictions.

I am looking to buy an Android device for my parents to be able to play netflix on their non-smart TV. My two main requirements would be that the device can run from the TV's USB power and that its wifi reception is as good as possible, as there are a few walls between the TV and the router. What can you recommend me that fits that criteria?

must run from the TV's usb power? hmmm. if so, you should make sure the TV's usb power can offer enough power(at least 2Amp), can't accept the power adapter?

      That' maybe the next problem...
Any chance to test the wifi signal e.g. with mobile (also tablet or notebook but often has inside a bigger antenna) before ordering...
I think you need at minimum a device with external antenna...
      (BTW: forget USB-powering)

geekbuying: my TV's USB states a 0.5VA output from the USB port, so I guess I am out of luck. Using a power adapter is not verboten per se, but in order to provide a free out let for it to plug into will require some creativity.

no_spam_for_me: I could test with my current CX-919, good idea. I am not expecting encouraging results though, their tablet (a Cube U39GT) always has reception problems. Granted, it has a very crappy wi-fi antenna, but that is also likely the case for most sticks.
