Streaming MKV video has no Audio

I have lots of TV shows on my galaxy in MKV format. These are 40 minute TV shows in 720P HD often with DD5.1 as the soundtrack. When I start the app that comes with the tronsmart and turn on the Digital Media Renderer it performs well with the video, unfortunately there is no audio. Is there anyway to change the default media player app to something like MX player or BS player?

PS Video I recorded my self works fine including audio

PPS 101K4 performs very well with 720P but struggles a little with 1080P, Finless 1.3 performs flawlessly with both 720P and 1080P

I've not used the internal app but I know there's certain content you'll need to use software decoder for the audio, ie dts and dd5.1 as this version of the chip won't hardware decode the audio. Check for some sort of audio decoding settings and make sure it's set to software decoding.

You're exactly right which is why I want the streaming app to call a different player than the current internal one, as the current one has no user settings.

If your device your videos sit on is dlna then I'd suggest using a free app called skifta. You can then pick what you want to play your vids with. If not use es explorer and add it as a networked device and browse to them, again it'll let you pick any installed player.

I don't use the installed one, there's maybe a way of doing it with that too.

Skifta is nice though, and free

DD pass through only occurs when using XBMC, no other apps support it.

          Please try streaming with XBMC.

Bs player seems to be handling it fine but I will double check the test file I used for it was Dolby.
