Can't get new firmware to load

I'm currently on Acemax 20140430 firmware.
Tried to update to Acemax M8012 firmware, using "SYSTEM UPDATE" from the"OTHER" menu.

    1. SD slot simply not recognised
    2. Attempt to update using ZIP file on USB gives the following message:

    E: footer is wrong
    E: signature verification failed

    Any ideas on what's wrong?
Suggestions as to how I can successfully update my firmware?

    unzip the firmware you downloaded
copy 3 files to sd card
    take off power lead
press hidden reset switch inside AV port and hold
    insert power Lead
hold reset button until firmware update starts
Files has to be in root directory of the sd card not in an Folder...

        Thanks for the reply.

I have eventually got the firmware loaded - but it was not easy.

Loading from SD card just doesn't work on my box.
So, I used a USB disk.

Boot into Android recovery, then choose the "install" option - use the "return" button for "OK".
The box did NOT do an automatic firmware install.

Have not yet checked how the new firmware improves on the previous firmware!

If you prepare SD card and apply the update Sequence Properly you shouldn't have any problem...
Done those updates 100s of time without any problem...
