ROOT Android: quickly, easily, safely (Windows).

    "Kingo Android Root 1.2.2.1915.exe"

is the latest version of the program I use. It works in Windows7. Other operating systems - I don't know. It is frequently updated (quarterly?), so the above version will probably be out of date?

It easily works on all five of my China-brandname phones: Iocean, THL, Jiayu. Just usb-cable connect it to a Windows computer. Turn the phone on, and follow the computer's screen instructions. My PC is connected the internet hen I do this. Whether it needs extra files, I'm not sure.

Kingo Android Root will install the necessary files onto your phone, through the usb cable. It will re-boot the phone as needed. Then it is done. Very quickly. When I debug my Youtube editing program, I'll detail this on my Youtube channel (English only).

The program, afaik, will not run in Linux. Using Netrunner (Ubuntu-based, KDE Linux), it installs ok, starts ok, but will not connect to my phone.

Works well on Windows 7... I couldn't get it to work on Ubuntu either... same issue as you. I don't think the drivers are seen by Wine
