I think I read on this forum that the kernel is inside the boot.img on v10 of the stock rom - so no I don't think so. I might be mistaken though.

youre right mrdude ,its inside,no chance ;D

PLEASE NOTE. There is no kernel.img because the kernel is inside boot.img on the stock ROM!
Thus you wont be able to flash any seperate kernel.img images on the stock ROM.
When kernel is in boot, it is always used vs kernel.img
Thus in the flashtool kernel.img is unchecked. If you check it, you will get an error!
you can read it here -->>

and no,the normal kernel is NOT overclocked :C

reason? very easy -->> its stock and minix would never release a overclocked kernel because of the maybe shorter lifetime of the minix itself ;D

same reason to every company on earth - shorter lifetime of the hardware

I can confirm the kernel.img is packed inside the boot.img.
I have managed to split the boot.img into the correct partioning and run the split .img's on my x7 with a custom kernel of my own build with marvin_script by pjanderson.
All of this is based on 010 final build by minix. Modded to my own spec.

Not impossible tbh just needs basic knowledge of linux and a hour or so reading various threads on FT.
